Default Picked up Dad's 2019 Z

Dad and I made the trip to pick up his 2019 Z06 at Criswell Chevrolet yesterday. I am extremely greatful that I had the chance to do this again with him. In 1989 he ordered a new black on black 6spd. I was 11 years old then and it is one of the childhood memories I'll never forget. We had a effortless transaction with Mike Furman and the Criswell staff with no issues. Highly recommend! Dad entrusted me with driving the Z home as he was nervous with all the traffic in that area. I absolutely love the car and the 165 miles home were so enjoyable. I found the car to be comfortable and could envision driving across the country if needed without hesitation. Most of the trip was in Touring mode but I loved to hear the exhaust open up in Track. I never went over 3K rpms and you can tell the power is ready to be unleashed. It is almost scary the way it pulls at low rpm. We managed to get home safely but couldn't dodge the rain drops so alot of detailing ahead of us. Here are some pics!!

That's a great story. I tried to do the same with my father when i picked mine up from Mike almost two years ago. But my father was about a year off of a hemorrhagic stroke. Although he is ok by the grace of God, the trip was too much at the time.

Tell your dad I wish him the best and how lucky he is to be healthy and have a son like you.

Thanks guys. My dad is 75 and has been very shy, quite and reserved all his life. He will talk about certain subjects with strangers and my mom is the opposite which i think puts me in the middle lol I'm really grateful that he is in really great health for his age and prefers to still row the gears.

I look forward to some car shows and a stop at the dragstrip with him in the future. Perhaps even a few rolls races with me in the C4.

Lol. That C4 better be packing serious heat. Like the Callaway sledgehammer. If you haven't gotten on that car yet......be careful hahaha. .

Great story from you, also saw the car in Mike's Sunday Morning post.

Really think that Torch Red is the best color on the C7 Z06, and it truly looks great with the chrome wheels, and think it is awesome that it also is 7 speed manual.
Must be something truthful to still loving "rowing through the gears" in a world class sports car!

The car looks great but reliving the experience with your dad all these years later is priceless. Thanks for sharing.

So pleased too see your dad's Z is first one Ive seen that doesnt have BLACK Wheels...... While Im not a huge fan of Chrome these days
I absolutely oppose the BLACK wheel fad going on.....
I think people at GM/Corvette Division really missed the boat by not doing the C7Z06 wheel in PVD Black Chrome
and/or several powder coat shades that the Forged Wheel mfgs are using such as.............................

OE Wheels are CAST .................are they not ?????

Seems like GM with all their power and buying clout would have/ should have FORGED
Wheels on the Z06 at that price point !!!!!
