Ship it open for about a grand. It's not the Mona Lisa.

It might be the Mona Lisa to him. I wouldn't want mine shipped open and he might feel the same.

Yes, I do want to ship it enclosed. So far I have quotes from 3 companies.

Intercity - $2745
Reliable - $2571
Thomas C Sunday - $2182

I used Montway to transport from Georgia to the bay area and got delivery exactly a year ago. It was around $1500 for an enclosed trailer. Arrived without any issue. Montway contracts independent driver but it got to me just fine.

If you request a quote online, you will be bombarded with phone calls and emails from many tracking company (kinda aggressive) and didn't like it but you can shop around.

My experience with broker guy shows up with a open trailer, smokes the clutch loading it up, gets to the destination drivers side window was left open partially thru a rain storm, interior soaked. 68 Corvette we sold, buyer picked the shipper, not my problem to deal with. Beware of the gypsy truckers

Just had a friend ship 2 cars from San Diego to Augusta, Ga for $2000. For both. I thought that was too good of a deal but they got there this week and he was pleased. He used a broker.

Don't watch the YouTube video by Vinwiki if you are ever going to ship a car. His basic statement was "I never would recommend a shipper to a customer. I always had them pick the shipper because shipping a car is such a crapshoot." Then he proceeds to tell a number of stories of shippers either not delivering the car on time, or burning up a Lamborghini's or Porsche GT3's clutch trying to load i on the truck.

Hey Everyone, thanks for all your helpful responses. All Shippers were pretty much booked for 4 or more weeks. Plycar came through for me and can pickup my car around August 27, in 10 days or so. I am working with Ron at Plycar who is really helpful. I will let you all know how it goes.

Hey Everyone. Here is my Corvette delivery video. It was delivered in perfect condition by Plycar. Cost was $2500 from NJ to CA.

Happy for you. Plycar did my shipping about 1000 miles from Criswell to me in Northern Florida - zero problems... I can feel comfortable recommending them.

its a matter of principle moreso than price. I would pay an extra $2500 for peace of mind I wouldn't get driving a mile home from a cruddy dealer

However the OP has the best Corvette Dealer (not the largest but the best) about 30 miles from his house.

I agree. Rich at Abel Chevrolet would have given you a great price and terrific service. You will soon find out when you search for a dealer.
