Default Well, It's Official

Feeling a bit bummed. I sold my Challenger Hellcat today to make way for my ordered Z convertable. The Hellcat was a beast but I feel I won't regret the change of scenery.

They are both nice but I would rather have the Z-06.

You will quickly forget everything about your Hellcat once you get behind the wheel of your new Z and hit that accelerator pedal.

We will see 10.5 in the quarter w/ drag radials, bone stock ,is not to shabby. Just wanted to get back into a Vette ZO6 and the ZR ,visually ,does not float my boat

Nothing better than dropping the top on a nice stretch of backroad and taking some turns at 90+. Just feel better than only going fast in a straight line.

I agree.

Especially since you're going to a manual. Even though the ZF trans in the hellcat is pretty damn good.

I feel like i was apart of making the car decision purchase for you man. The PM's, my pitch about the Z's in your thread lol. But in the end you you made the right choice. You got a Z, and you got a manual.

I would say that the hellcat is a better daily driver. The Z, even though you "can" daily drive it, you really shouldn't and you wouldn't want to. It's a weekend car.

Enjoy the new ride.

You were through your very informative advice. Can't wait to feel how well it shifts compared to my former C6Z.

You will love the Z06 vert, not that I am biased or anything. Nothing wrong with a Hellcat, I would keep it if someone gave me one.

Default You’ll love the Z

Was between an f430 and a z06 and so happy I went with the z06. Drop the top and hit the gas and the sound is divine!

You won’t miss the fat cat. Nothing had the raw power like a z06 and VERY few cars are faster, if you can do your part the chance of getting out run on the track by anything short of a prepped race car are slim to none.

I Traded my challenger hellcat for my awesome Zo6, 1 day after leaving my first track event in the hellcat. Track mode in the hellcat isn't as capable in the corners as tour mode in the vette. Only thing i miss is the supercharger whine. The z is so much more of a drivers car for not that much more $. Enjoy!

Yes, the whine .I will miss that also. Short of coming right off the throttle body with a high flow filter I have not heard of any " fixes" to aquire a whine from this SC. If you hear of anything let me know please

Traded my BMW M5 for a Z06. It was a hard decision and not going to lie, almost pulled out of the deal in the last moments.. The next morning, I woke up and looked in the garage at my Z06 and she gave me that sinister grin. Didn't even think about the M5 anymore. I was talking to a friend and we came up with the analogy that the M5 was like a Sophisticated Woman but the Z06 is a very Dirty Girl. Cue the Pink Floyd song...

What year M5?

I thought about doing the opposite. Trading the Z for a '18 M5 to hold me off until the C8 (z06 version) comes out. Which will likely be in about 4-5 years.

I don't want to upgrade to the ZR1 yet, but if i have to i will. Idk, around the 3rd year mark of car ownership i tend to get bored and want something new lol. Even though my C7Z has been the best, fastest car i ever owned, i know the C8 will be better but i can't wait! I want something new now lol

I had a 2013 F10 which has the same S63 powerplant as the new F90. I had a Dinan tune on it and some other "tasteful" suspension mods. There IS something to be said about German Engineering and the luxury factor was outstanding. The seats massaged your *** for the long trips. Fit and finish is light years ahead of anything Chevy puts out. BUT at the very core, it was still a 4 door saloon. You could upgrade the suspension and handling all you want, but it still had some serious body roll with its 4500lbs. And that DCT Transmission is a dream. The M5 is top end fast, dangerously fast, but it is not "quick" and the fun factor diminishes quickly. Doing 70mph down the highway and punching the gas is its strong point. Anything that puts you back in your seat from 70mph + is a beast. Wish I would own both, but wife won't allow 2 weekend cars.
