8850, no the one I took off was stock. I have done no other mods other than what I mentioned and it’s the canned diablosport 93 octane tune. I agree that porting the snout would be beneficial but I have not done that yet. As far as rust that minor surface rust you pointed out is of zero consequence and I’m not worried about that at all.

Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about this aFe pipe failing but I did pay for what I thought was a 304 stainless pipe. 304 would not rust. This is the only rust on my car! But who knows, in time might get a leak at these rusty welds.

pipe was only $400. That little bit of surface rust won’t cause an issue. You can always have it jet coated.

you don’t need to port a lt5 TB it’s already 95mm. Unless you are running big boost and have ported the snout as the lt4 snout is smaller than the lt5 TB

I’m not a 1/4 mike runner. I did it as an experiment to see how it runs. Given my current mods it seems to work well. I can only imagine better results with a lt4 snout ported to match the lt5. I think your money is best spent on that vs a ported lt5 TB as the snout on the lt4 is smaller than 95mm

I ordered the stock ZR1 95mm TB (GM part #12669871) & (ICT part #551793) billet adapter plate.

No porting will be done to the TB, running it as delivered with the stock tune and a AFE CAI (dry 'low flow' filter installed) at the strip with hopefully positive results.

Apart from the question if it is a good idea to install the TB that way, would the electric cable be long enough to connect to the TB ?

There are two different adapters available from ICT. One that clocks the throttle weirdly like that, and then a standard clocking adapter. Try this link instead...

You are right, I saw that being mentioned before.
The background of my question is, that GM offers other 95mm TB that will fit, but the electric connector is in a different Position, requireing the cable to reach app. 3-4" further - like in the Picture above.

I wanted to install the TB with the adapter and realized that it adapts the mounting holes, but not the diameter. It is 95mm in and out.

Correct. No point in putting on a bigger throttle if it just gets choked down at the snout entry. The snout really needs opened up to match as well for it to be beneficial
