Just curious, would an updated tune void your warranty?

Basically what the tune does is it makes your shifts way harder so it feels a lot like a dual clutch.

will it cut your shift times down to where they're the same as a dual clutch no. Right now the stock a8 is so Mildly tuned that when you actually shift the throttle gets cut off so you fall forward in your seat. All that bs goes away and your car actually will jump ahead hard on a8 shifts.

This trans is never gonna be a dual clutch trans but at the same time it's capable of handling over 900 pounds ft of torque which a dual clutch can't.

bingo. Thats what i have heard the problem is for nissan, porsche etc, the dct limits their ability to make more torque even if they wanted to.

For those who don't like the idea of an auto transmission with a torque converter:
One of the world's fastest, most exotic, and most expensive cars uses a torque converter.

Thank you!

The world is a different place.... Than it was in 1958, 1968...and 1978.... By the late 80s (while not comparable to today)

the advent of overdrive transmissions and lockup converters changed the auto business... FOREVER. 2006 brought us the A6 Transmission

and the world changed yet again..... 2015 brings us the A8 and while in it's early development stages... It's INCREDIBLE....

and the A10s I've had the pleasure of working with should prove to be really be special.

If after all of these advances.... you still don't see the light..... YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR HEAD EXAMINED.

While utilizing the stock programming, yes they are conservative..... but with a proper tune they are AMAZING.

I don't want to use the word "stupid" here, but why on earth would you get a standard shift car with all the amazing

automatics out there.....???

Ditch the 1988 Pink Barbie Vette mentality of automatics..... and more masculine than driving a stick could be....

Would be to man up and admit publically that the Automatics REALLY ARE THE MANS CARS OF TODAY.

Viva AUTOMATICS!

It is not A8 vs M7. That is a choice! It is the A8 vs the DCT that some are having wet dreams about. The M7 is just more fun to drive. I know for a fact since I own both cars.
If it came to one owning just one it would be the M7. Nothing is manly about any Auto nothing there to man up to! If you find a pink car it will no doubt be a Automatic!
That said the choice is nice. The A8 is better for dinner dates. The M7 has a race car feeling that the A8 cannot do!

Get a laugh at the comparison's here. What a waste of time. Very happy that my C7 Z06 A8 was less than 25% of the price of a Porsche GT2RS (with a few options). Certainly did not expect my Z06 to be the same, although all Corvette models have their own great strengths.

They knock the Z06 for the A8 used then they are quick to compare to cars 5 times the price in the same sentence. Too funny all when they likely will never see a GT2RS in person let alone driving or owning one. But they still get the panties in a bunch over it! Proper Automatic! It Is a huge laugh!

Wouldn't a "manly" car also need manual windows, manual spark advance/retard and manual fuel mixture control? And what's up with power steering and power brakes on a "he-man" car?
A "real man" would be driving a Model T or Model A Ford. Even better, one with a crank out the front instead of an electric starter.

Kind of far fetched aren't we. Ever drive a Model A? My older brother used to have a 1931. He drove it to high school a few times No Halltech intake or MGW nor can you get an A8. Plus the 0-60 is forever!

The Boss cannot drive the stick is real reason for most to get the A8! We totally understand!

I have driven a 1923 Buick a few times. Mechanical brakes, spark advance on the steering wheel...yadda yadda, but I do know why they say that that was the time when MEN were REAL MEN what a physical job it was to drive those cars. It's no wonder why my paternal grandfather could roll up a cast iron frying pan with his bare hands. He started at 9 years old driving spikes and laying rail road over much of the eastern seaboard.

for one thing you won't have the fuel cut off that happens every time you shift . your shifts will Bang a lot harder like a dual clutch. I would never get rid of the a8 for the M7 its just too much trouble.

Another reason were not using the dual clutch trans is because of the massive torque handling that would be required espec if modded like me.

My maggy 2.3 dual meth is running close to a 1000 horsepower and a8 handles the torque fine with near a 1000 pound feet of torque

How exactly do you "tune" the tranny like you are advising?
