You need to get your right hand off the stick and put both hands on the wheel. Forget the argument that resting your hand on the stick can cause accelerated wear on the transmission. You losing control due to loss of traction with one hand on the steering wheel is dangerous. Two hands should be on the wheel as much as possible for maximum control. Only put you hand on the stick when you are actively shifting. I have a Callaway Z06 and maintaining control of this car is paramount! Just trying to give you constructive advice. Take any driver improvement course and they will tell you the same thing.

If your talking about a DMV instructor that is big laugh DVM doesn't have many that know anything about driving! They pass bad drivers everyday.

WOW first I ever heard that but some driving instructor's need work on their own driving. I drive with 1 thumb on a wheel for maybe a million miles. Two hands on the wheel?

You are right we should all drive aggressively with one hand on the wheel and overcorrect with one hand just like the experienced race car drivers do. Driving with you thumb for long hours on the highway is different than driving aggressively with your thumb.
In this video, if it were not for the traction control and other "nannies" kicking in his overcorrection would likely have sent the car into a condition that may have been difficult to overcome on these narrow streets with little forgiveness on the shoulders.
If you can't see that driving aggressively with one hand on the wheel is not proper form, not safe, and in poor control of a powerful vehicle then I don't know what to say.

I use two hands when pushing the car hard too! I try use common sense where to be pushing the car hard. Public curvy two lane mountain roads are not the place for me. Nor for race cars. I didn't watch the video yet! I go where you can see hazards ahead. Now I did watch it and nothing in the video is anywhere near any limits and is more MEH if you want to know. They didn't push anything enough to even need two hands.

At no time did the gentleman in the white shirt put two hands on the steering wheel when driving aggressively.
Guy in the grey shirt even hinted on having two hands on the steering wheel when he is driving his car aggressively.

The owner also mentions the Z07 pkg. at the 2:09 - 2:13 mark but just says - "It has the Z07 package. Which is the track package. Which is the carbon ceramic brakes." I'm a stickler for accuracy & details (former auditor). He should have mentioned everything included in the Z07 pkg. which is more than just the brakes.
Differences between the Z06 & Z07:· The following information comes directly from the Chief Suspension Engineer at Corvette.

The suspension on Z07 equipped Z06s is stiffer than non-Z07 equipped Z06s.
- The springs, shocks, Magnetic Selective Ride Control calibration and stabilizer bar bushings are different between the two.
- The front spring has a 62% higher rate on the Z07 than the standard Z06.
- The rear spring has a 22% higher rate on the Z07 than the standard Z06.
- The different stabilizer bar bushings help the Z07 achieve an appropriate understeer level.
- The Magnetic Selective Ride Control shocks on the Z07 have a tighter gap which means a higher “passive” curve in addition to a more aggressive MRSC damping tuning.

I agree, the car was no where close to being pushed to its limits. But this is spirited driving nonetheless and requires two hands for maximum control.
