Default A matter of personal preference...

Today I finally had a chance to park my Z06 next to a ZR1 and while I do like the taller hood there's nothing else I prefer about it over my car (not counting the extra 105hp of course). I'm not looking to start a back and forth war with anyone who likes the ZR1 better because as the title says it's a matter of personal preference. I'm just glad I had a chance to see them side by side to confirm what I had already thought which is that the Z06 is just a cleaner, less radical looking design overall.

I will keep my Z06 . But I must say I love the looks of the ZR1 front end compared to my Z07.

I could live with the front bumper and I really do like the tall hood, but that front splitter just doesn't do it for me at all. Even my father, who doesn't know a ton about cars, said "the orange one looks like it has a plow on the front".

As for the rear wing, the side vents and the wheels I definitely like what's on my Z06 more, but I can see how some might prefer the outrageous looks of the ZR1. It's obvious that they wanted to differentiate the ZR1 from the Z06 after they were basically identical in the C6 generation. I'm just not a big fan of all the choices they made.

I agree with the OP except I don't like the front or the high hood end on the ZR1. The Z06 is cleaner lower front end traditional Corvette low sweep sports car front design the ZR1 has changed to a muscle car look not for the better.. IMO!

I agree and don’t care for either wing.

If the Z06 had the center hood decal it would look even better.

Nah, I didn't want that option when I ordered the car....looks too much like a cheap sticker to me, but to each their own.

I'm with you. Hard to improve on the Z06. Except for the extra HP, I like yours !!

If I went into my garage and saw a yellow ZR1, I'd be as happy as a pig in slop. But I also get almost the same feeling looking at my Z06.
Just knowing what the ZR1 is, is enough for me to be saving my pennies.

I'm not a fan of the WAAAANG but love the rest of it. The Z06 is definitely comparable though.

I like the looks of the z06 better as well. I actually was not a fan of the stage 3 package on the z06 when it first came out, now i think the z looks better with it so the zr1 may grow on me.

Saw a zr1 today up close. Nice car. But in pictures the hood looks better then in person. Also the panel and hood figment was off. Z06 is better looking. It is like designers just threw too much at the car., not a good look. There was a small spoiler on the deck lid under the big wing. I liked that smaller spoiler and would prefer to chuck my stage 1 spoiler in favor of this tiny low provide spoiler that spans the length of the deck.

Love my ZO6 and am not looking to move up to the ZR1 at this time but I really like the front grille and the hood on the ZR1. Much more aggressive IMO.

Love my Z06 but could learn to live with a ZR1.

I only have my 600 miles on my new Z06 but I was just thinking after a great drive with my son today that this car is plenty fast enough, looks great and is sooooo much less.

My '19 Z is being delivered Sunday afternoon, so I am excited about that. As for ZR1 looks, I think the design, shape of the body and spoilers was pretty much based of a lot of very serious wind tunnel testing. The '19 Brochure says that the ZR1 front undertray spoiler creates as much downforce as the high rear wing. How it looks was somewhat secondary, and of course very subjective. Total available downforce the most aggressive ZR1 aero package is 950 lbs.

OP, you can rest assured, you have a nice car.

FWIW I do like the ZR front bumper.
High wing: that defines a ZR, low wing: looks better to me though.
Hood: no opinion at this time.
