Are you having pump cavitation? If not then with the additional coolant from the Fastproms tank there should be enough coolant that vacuum filling shouldn't be necessary.

There's just a lot of air in the reservoir and the dealer is getting the air out under warranty.

Thanks for the picture. I'll give it a shot but I still don't like that bend I see on yours.

Its not a perfect shot by any means, but prior to filling I ran a scope through it and it has a clear unrestricted path.

Some more information: I initially used the factory hose, cut down. That worked but the bend was kinked more than I liked. The hose on there now is just a generic heater hose from napa, cut down a little. Part NBH 9807

Almost claim victory but it leaks at the fill port connection. Going to see if I can find a tiny bit smaller ID hose and also raise the tank about 1/4" to alleviate the angle.

Found a hose at NAPA that’s 5/8” x 3/4”, part # 10079. One end fits the tank perfectly and the other the full port’s. Now for the test to ensure there’s no leaks.

It helps to tilt the front end of the car upward. That helps air flow out of the bricks and the reservoir when the pump isn't running. Pulling a vacuum expands the size of the bubbles to the point they reach a hole to escape to another part of the system. You need to use a combination of running the pump to circulate the air out of parts of the system and shutting it off so air can flow in the opposite direction of pump flow to get out of the system. When we ran the pump we would see thousands of small bubbles come up into the bleeder reservoir but when we turned off the pump we would see multiple large bubbles escape from the system. If done properly it will take some where between 1 and 2 hours to get the air out. If you have too much air in the system the intercooler can't cool the charge air sufficiently and you stand a chance of getting misfires in cylinders number 7 and 8 under high rpm wide open throttle conditions.

Well, got the Z back and the air is still there. They kept the car for like 8 hours and also did the alignment. I’m going back tomorrow to talk to the tech and see how it was done.

same on mine. The dealer had my car for a day for the alignment , oil change and I saw how they had the car rigged up for the purge. Seemed like it was just a gravity bleed. Let us know what you find out. I am going to rig up the hose Jammed on the filler port filling up the tube with a dexcool mixture. Then I’ll let it sit for the week. See how much drains out of the tube.

I left mine with water sitting overnight and it dropped like 11” by the reservoir looks almost the same. I guess it had air in other parts.

Temperature will also cause levels to drop a little. So if you initially filled your tube when engine was hot/warm, then the car cooled, that would also explain where some of the coolant went.

But not to be repetitive, there have been several members, myself included, that have spent hours and hours figuring out how to get the air out of the system. There isnt a short cut. You need a BIG (20"+) vacuum. Putting the car on an incline helps as well.

I wish you could put a blow valve that would let the air out, not the coolant, when the system expands.

Is there a video of this been done with a vacuum?
