Default C7 Z06 Exhaust

Had a quick question on if you guys prefer the corsa extreme or the borla exhaust for the zo6? Need opinions and reasons on which one to go with. Thanks in advance!

Start with an Xpipe from either and build from there if you need more. You might end up saving a lot of money.

Try to find a few examples of each that you can hear (perhaps go to a Corvette show). There's a "Borla" sound and then there's a "Corsa" sound. Only you can make the decision as to which sounds "better" to you. Borla has a deeper sound that I prefer.

Just in my general experience Borla is usually a bit more throaty/louder than the Corsa's.

I got to hear them both side by side at SEMA last year.

The Corsa Extreme are really loud. Borla is nice since most of them have the NPP function.

Contact us for pricing on exhausts!

Josh has great pricing. I just got the Borla Xpipe from him. Trying to find an installer now.

Can't go wrong with either. I run a full Corsa Xtreme system on mine (X Pipe + Axle back) and I absolutely love it. Insane bark and sound on WOT, incredible cruising characteristics with zero drone. Install was an absolute breeze, everything is extremely well made.

The sound is purely personal preference. Frankly, the Corsa is so common that I was unable to find anybody running a Borla exhaust that I could hear. Not that it matters because I'm #TeamCorsa all the way, haha. If you really want to splurge, contact Josh on Akrapovic.

Personally I prefer the Borla over the Corsa system. Like it was mentioned before the Borla has a more throaty sound which I think sounds like more like an old school muscle car! We also have great pricing and free shipping! Feel free to call, PM or email us at any time.

These guys are great. I wouldn't hesitate to go to them for anything. First class all the way.

Jordan helped me at an Optima event by making the time to show me what to do with an issue I was having. He certainly didn't have to do that.

These days time is a much more valuable commodity every day.

What will changing the x pipe do?

Yeah, other than taking some money out of your pocket and making the exhaust a little louder I would really like to see some definitive answers to what power gains, if any, the borla Xpipe makes after driving with it for a few hundred miles, then dynoing it

For me, if the answer is zero, then it is a waste of money. I can see adding the ported TB for some increased drivability. Maybe a different intake, if it passes the test above.

I had assumed the OP was looking for simply for a sound improvement. Rather than drop 3k on a new exhaust my suggest was to start out with the X pipe and then move to mufflers, headers etc etc if not satisfied.

I believe you are right. I honestly don’t think one can gain enough noticeable HP without a tune. Even 40 hp on an already 650 HP car can’t be that noticeable.

Default corsa Extreme + x pipe and BMS filter

so I just did the corsa X-pipe and corsa extreme + BMS filter.

first impressions.. throttle feel is waayyyy better.. that annoying lag at low RPM is gone. much much more crisp on throttle.

definitely feels a bit quicker, not sure if its just the extra sound or actual power but the seat of your pants power increase feeling is there..

sound, so it sounds really good. not as deep of a tone as stock but has an exotic hollow howl to it.

to my disappointment its not nearly as loud as I hoped for but has a good sound with NO drone. almost cant here the car at cursing speed.

over all im happy but I do think corsas extreme sound level with the x-pipe should be substantially louder if its to be called extreme or extreme +.
if I just go the extreme muffler id be very upset. I can see that barley being louder then stock so over all nice sound but not that loud.

Sounds great on cold start.
