The forum isn't uptight.
You have people here who pay attention to some of the crazy street racing videos, where cars are traveling at 160+ mph and splitting past both sides of mini-vans as they pass.
That has happened to me, being the unsuspecting average driver who has two vehicles pass, one on each side of my vehicle, at over 160.
Let me tell you, even for a guy that has seen north of 160 many times, it literally scared the $hit right out of me.
Don't get me wrong, I love the occasional sprint run but some of these people are really putting lives in danger.

It's called being mature and responsible, and appropriating risk accordingly.
Imagine if your loved one's got injured or killed by asshats doing this sh$t on the street.Or your pet got hit my morons doing roll racing in residential areas.
Take it to the track where you can really test your skills, or at the very least, confine to isolated rural locations.

When I spotted him, there was little to no traffic. The highway is 6 lanes on each side. When we came up on traffic, he gave me the right of way. We were both cautious around other cars. As I said in the original post, most people in his shoes would try to line up and match speed and race, he had no desire. It was apparent he was only trying to go somewhere at a high rate of speed and I was not important to him at the time.
I have figured out what I needed to know, and found someone who knows the cars well enough for my liking for most of the questions I need answered. I will go back to reading the forum and not make any further posts. My apologies to all who are scared or worried by my post. I think if you would have seen my driving in person, you would realize my driving was commonplace when compared to 90% of buyers who invests in these types of high performance cars, at some point or another in their lives.
I believe there is a bit of hypocrisy present.
PM me if you have any further questions, I will not be responding here.

OP. You have not uncovered any secrets. It is well know how to tune a corvette and get more ponies. Getting more air and fuel into the engine and out the exhaust quicker works on any car last time I checked.
I still believe both of you are very inmature and irresponsible. There are many many innocent people on the streets driving everywhere at all hours of the day. You get into a situation and kill someone your life will change forever if you are a decent person. It simply is not worth the risk or the fallout.
Imagine yourself in court facing a victims famiy. Would anything you posted, trying to explain you curiousity or you friends mission be received by the family if someone you harmed?
I'm not trying to bust your ***** here, I think you just need to think this out a little more.
There are many track opportunities out there. I enjoy track days and frankly have no desire to speed down the freeway after a track day. I do occasionally see younger partipants getting tickets leaving a track event so I know that’s not universal.
Please if you have not been on the track try it. It’s not perfect, there are still risks but it’s the right environment to enjoy and exercise your ride.
Be safe

Burning Brakes
About 5 or 6 weeks ago, some young people (high school and college boys) were racing on a sunny afternoon on a curvy bayside drive in Tampa. In the middle off a block, a lady tourist from a northern state tried to cross the road while pushing her infant in a stroller. A Mustang with a two boys in it hit the woman and the stroller with the infant in it. Both were killed. The husband was a few minutes away, so he didn't see the actual crash but arrived soon afterward. The police arrested the driver, the passenger, and the driver of the other car that had been racing. No trial date has been set yet. Although the lady was apparently jaywalking, the local buzz is that possible felony vehicular homicide likely trumps jaywalking. Those boys apparently had no previous criminal record, but the outlook for them now seems bleak.

I think he must be with the CIA! After all he can drive around at 140 mph with no worries. License is clean and always will be! That is not arrogant!
This was just huge we cannot read the mutli-page intelligent posts after all no one else was even in the same league even the many vendors here and GM themselves found out quickly not to mess around. They found their own products were inferior in by design once examined by the superior mind.
inferior once reengineered

Your opinion doesn't really matter as much as mine.
Reason being is that mine is not opinion it has happened to members on this forum and other forums. If I can help somebody out by giving them some advice based on other's actions that have resulted in consequences..you know basically running your mouth about things. Then I will take things too far every time..get used to it!

There are highway cameras every half mile. My gut is, if the police wanted to get him, they could. I realize each state's laws are different, but in the state of Florida, you guys are reaching now. We don't have speed cameras. Tickets cannot be issued based on cameras in this state. I did not cause anyone any harm.
It is my belief that there is something else going on with this fellow, I would not be surprised if he was a cop himself. He has a confidence to speed like I've never seen before. Normally people slow down. It seems he does not care at all.
It could be that he is an undercover cop. We have those here and they have nice cars sometimes

First, people are speculating that the guy "might" be an undercover; nobody is saying that they "know" he is an undercover. My guess is that he could have diplomatic immunity, but it is only a possibility and purely speculative. Second, as for calling people you've never met "morons", well, that strikes me as silly, illogical, and immature. If so many people here are "morons", why are you wasting your time reading and responding to this thread? Everybody's entitled to an opinion, but civility and decency are appreciated and respected over inane insults and crudeness by most members of this forum. Enough said.

(These roads were where a lot of the stoplight-to-stoplight racing around Detroit took place, at one time.)

I am not worried about this thread being here, I would have deleted it if I were. I edited it to bring the fear factor down for some apparently with overly negative and wild imaginations of my participation.
There is no proof of who I am, or who I am not, how fast I drive, or how slow I drive. It is all hearsay.
Rather than get into laws with certain folks, I just let it go. I suggest the rest of you study up on the law a bit, and reflect on whether or not you yourself speed at times when safer conditions and circumstances permit.
As for the person accusing the person in the black corvette and myself being the same person, or having multiple screen names, if instead you search this forum a bit, you will see that others have encountered him on the road as well. I don't believe he is driving 2 cars at once. You will also find that he travels at high speeds outside the state of florida, for very long distances it seems. This is why I do not believe he is merely a police officer. I believe there is much more to this fellow than he leads on. But I mean that in a good way, you can tell he means well, he just seems to be above the law in some way or another.
This is all assuming it is the same person as you are all accusing it of being. I do not know that it is indeed the same black vette or the same person.

If he were a cop, I believe he would be pulling us over instead of escorting some of us long distances at high speeds, without drama or fear.
Then again, this could all be a lie. Hearsay means nothing in the court of law. Perhaps myself and others are bored, and fictional stories on corvette forum to entertain others are the best use of our time. Try to prove it one way or the other.

Really? So nice of you to evaluate the rest of us here. I'm trying to figure out if I am a "retard", psychic, or just a moron. Please judge me!
