what was your pre bms xpipe dyno hp and torque reading?

I put the bms in (never did any dyno tests). Car felt like it ran better for a while then the computer compensated for the additional flow and now it seems like there is no difference or the car may not run as good as it did with the original air filter

To make a dyno for mods that is helpful you really need a before dyno to compare to see any gains. Then there are different correction factors. Most use SAE, some use STD.

How do you know it compensated? I saw immediate gains from my Halltech, and they haven't gone away in over 3 years of use. My guess is that your "butt dyno" got used to the gains, and now you don't feel them. If you really want to know, get someone to bring HPTuners software to the dyno, dyno it in it's "compensated state", use HPTuners to "unlearn", then dyno again. If your car learned to compensate, the second dyno will be higher.

Did you drive around for the computer to relearn before you dyno'd with the mods? Most guys swap to mods on the dyno and run it again lol.

Did you allow the computer to learn the new mods or did you just put the mods and headed right to the dyno?

I always thought 580'ish is stock for the manual guys. And ike 520-530rwhp for the auto guys.

I’ve had the mods for about a month.

attached is dyno sheet.

1st run is when I get there, hour drive in 85-90 degrees.

waited half hour or so.

2nd & 3rd runs are back to back.

Honestly, I was trying to see if I could get away with a Halltech intake without running too Lean and throwing the CEL code or whatever.. Any 2017 M7s with same mods have any issues? Is it worth it??

Ok now take the BMS and TB off, slap your wrist, then go back and dyno so we have a before after for at least those two mods.

Yeah. I'll get right on that...

My goal wasn't necessarily compare what the stock car makes to these mods. It was to understand if I was running too lean for more mods on stock tune.

What fuel/octane? I only ask because stock halltech only dyno show more than this on a dynojet. Makes me think I need to do a back to back halltech or AEM dyno and then put the BMS in and see.

Just premium - 93oct. I'd probably get the halltech then go back after a few hundred miles for another run to see if I leaned out.

Kind of sucks you have to "wait for the computer to adjust" so it's like.. what I can't change it over and do another run because it will change after a couple hundred miles??

Just costs ~200$ to jump back on the dyno and do a run.. if I want to go back to this one!

I didn't do a before dyno either, but I also made 580rwhp with these exact same mods.

14.5-1 air fuel ratio? Doesn't this seem a bit lean ?

Isn't 580 rwhp considering a 15% drivetrain loss - equivalent to about 682 at the crank (580 divided by .85)?

He has an M7, so I'd figure 12% drivetrain loss, so about 660 crank estimate.
