Today, I encountered my first....

The most basic information is not presented. One of the key facts is whether the road had a broken or solid yellow line. If there was a broken yellow line I would also have blown by in my C7 Z06 (upgraded to 710 hp). If it was legal to pass and there are two or three cars to pass, the safest pass is to get it done as quickly as possible, not hang out there. Don't forget that with local roads, we shall assume that one does not know where there might be local cross roads.
The other key aspect is that speed, like much in life is relative, in that the "picuture" one sees in life is based upon the perspective of each individual viewer. Also, in my car, between the CAI and my exhaust sound, I could pass someone who later thinks that because it's somewhat loud their perspective is that they would guess I am going faster than I actually am - one of the human factors I was inferring when I said people's views of a particluar occurrence are relative in their basis.

I laugh this type of stuff off. I find the vast majority of drivers of American muscle are great, as well as much of the Porsche crowd. The Exotic crowd pays me no attention which is perfectly fine too
It's the BMW and particularly the C63 crowd the work so hard to make a point about their car.
I really like M Series and big fan of the Merc C63S, so this is not a hate post in any way. I seriously considered the C63S but the styling is a bit bland IMO compared to the Vette--personal taste.
Anyhow, I just smile and drive...and enjoy the fact that I can get under their skin without even trying.

Relax. Lets face it, we purchase a Corvette for the performance; not the looks -- and sometimes you just have to experience it. It's not a choice. Its a feeling. The world doesn't cater to people that have the need for speed and performance so you have to bend the rules. You can drive your car safety at high speeds.

Guess you would have to have been there. Driving like an ahole is driving like an ahole. There is enjoying a ride in the country and then there is a violently aggressive way to pass someone let alone three cars with an oncoming car he could have seen in the distance. Completed his pass and continued at a high rate of speed on a road not designed for this kind of move. As a ZO6 owner twice over I respect the power and leave it for a road course.Dont abuse the power and I find more times than not we respect the power.
When passing on a two lane road anyone with a functioning brain passes as fast as they can with car control. From your description the other driver did exactly that.
If that caused you to be upset and post your whine on this forum, maybe you should seek psychological help.

I assume you and the other cars were allowing adequate space so he could pass one car at a time and pull in between?
Today this is rare and it takes a group pass to get around inconsiderate drivers who I am sure we’re not going the speed limit.
I d rather be ahead of slow pokes who are distracted by fall foliage and create a hazard themselves.

I wouldn't move to pass 3 vehicles personally, as you never know when some other dumbass will have same idea or throw on the blinker to turn left.... Besides that, with him committing to pass, you would to be aggressive... Cant creep past 2 or 3 cars. Not worthing mulling over, as stated ive passed "sports cars" im my daily truck because they want to put around below the posted limit.

Let me guess you're over 65? What a joy it must be to be able to ride behind you!

I'm not seeing the issue. I assume that he couldn't leap frog everyone individually or that the road wouldn't allow it without going many more miles down it. At that point I'd gun it too. I'd rather be around the cars and back in my lane as fast as possible. That's the safest thing to do for me and everyone else. I'd only call him an ******* if he was lollygagging in the other lane waving or some other stupid crap putting everyone in danger.

I'm 72 - read my post above. If I had my Z06 on the autobahn, where I've driven many times, I'd be behind you coming up at a very rapid closing speed, probably around 200 or so, especially on a nice Sunday morning. Let me know where you'd like me to send a few busloads of pokes under 65and I'll get them right over to you.

My other pet peeve is people who take far too long to pass a car on a 2 lane. If you are passing someone doing 55 then going 58 is just dangerous and leaves you in the outer lane far too long. When I pull out to pass I am going to get around traffic in a hurry, one of the primary reasons for having plenty of power. It isn't always about showing off (says the retired risk manager).
