Default Bought a Shark Grey 2015 Z06 3LZ/Z07 A8...

Hey Gang,

Haven't posted in a while! My oldest son left for USMC boot camp July 16th and it has been a very busy summer with business/kids/wife etc. Anyways I ended up getting that "itch" a few weeks back and started test driving several different muscle cars. I ended up deciding on a very low mileage 1 owner 2015 C7Z06 3lz, z07...loaded. Car stickered at 109k and I paid 67K for it. only 9000 miles, ceramic coated, tint...flawless condition.

The stock power and the A8 are nothing short of incredible BUT I ended up doing pully, intake, tune 3 days after I bought the car. Now it makes 645RWHP and 724RWTQ!!! I have never driven anything this dam fast and the torque is nothing short of violent! Needless to say this car is seriously impressive. The interior and electrical goodies are a 10/10 as well...and keep in mind I drive an Audi RS7 as my daily. Very impressed with this car! Here are some pics and of course a video of an 80-130mph pull from a few days ago, using the awesome PDR feature which came on the car. Love it!

Default Congrats

congrats on the purchase... I’m partial to shark grey too. Tell your son to keep his head up. I’m currently active duty, USMC.

Chi-Town ZR1: Awesome car and video. I didn't see headers/X-pipe in your mods. I have done some research on this forum and have learned headers don't really add a whole lot of power for the extra 2K, unless the mods are extensive (H/C). I also read that the majority of the power increase from headers and a tune are from the tune and not the headers. I plan to do the same thing you have done except possibly headers/X-pipe. After finding out how headers give you very minimal gains, I am thinking of just the CAI, lower pulley and tune (No Headers). Is this why you didn't go with headers? I am not interested in making the car louder than what it already is. It appears your HP increase is about the same even if you had headers on there, meaning headers really don't do much. Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Pics or it didnt happen.....

OP congrats. Enjoy and be safe. Just remember any dig racing have all nannies on or put in track and use ptm mode. The ELSD is programmed to work differently than when in touring and other modes.

I guess you were refering that "pics or it didn't happen" to me. Oh and thanks for changing the spelling of grey to gray. Don't know what I would have done today if not for that correction. Edit:that's not the orignal quality picture at all but it's the best I could do in a pinch. The original picture is a live photo on my iphone and I couldn't figure out a fast way to covert it to a still jpg real quick in windows so I just used the snipping tool and well it degrades the picture.

Ahhh. Us here in the Corvette world only recognize pics.. lots of pics lol.

and yes, it drives me insane to see gray spelled incorrectly.. at least when it comes to Corvette colors according to Chevrolet

With no headers or exhaust, those are really impressive numbers! Who did the work?

Very impressive, I plan to to something almost identical. My stock RWHP/TQ was 540hp/600 lb-ft. I would like to be in the 630 RWHP range with mine. I just need to find a good tuner in the Virginia Beach area or somewhere within a few hour drive from me. Thanks for the feedback.
