Pretty excited to move up to this section finally. I've been a forum member for over 10 years starting out in the C5 section then the C6 section and now here. I was pretty torn letting my C6 go but it went to the same guy who bought my C5 years ago. We live in a small town in Southwestern Louisiana so I'll still see the car around. I turned the car which I owned for 6 years into a solid 9 second car that could be driven anywhere but have been looking at the C7 Z's for the past year. I have friends who moved up to the new Z's and G/S's and they've been telling me just how awesome the C7's performed and I wouldn't be disappointed when I make the decision to move up to one.
My search ended about a month ago. One morning I spotted this car sitting in the front of the local Ford dealership. My wife and I stopped and looked at it later that evening and from the looks of it the car was very clean but 2 things stuck out that wasn't on my first choice list. One it was a 7 speed and 2 it had the Adrenaline red seats. I hadn't owned a manual car since I had a 65 Chevy II back in high school. My wife like the red interior so after a few days I decided to go back when they were open and take a closer look. The car was a 2016 1LZ car with only 8800 miles on it. Carfax came back clean and was a 2 owner car. First owner only kept it for only 2000 miles before a guy in Lake Charles bought it. All the maint. records came with the car along with everything else that the car had when bought new. Took the car out for a test drive and really like the feel of the car. Got back to the dealership and opened the hood to find out it had a set of Kook's long tubes, a Haltech cold air and the upper pulley was changed on the S/C. The salesperson had no idea what the mods were so I asked if they had the name of the person who owned the car and come to find out it belonged to a friend of the owner to the dealership. The owner of the Z bought a new McLaren and owns a tuning shop for Diesels in Lake Charles. He had to many toys and decided to sell the Z which he asked his dealership friend to put it on his lot and this is where I came to find it. To make a long story short they had it on the lot for $66,500 and I got it for $59,500 after a few days of negotiating. After owning the car for a month now I'm really glad I decided to move up to the C7Z. I'm getting use to the 7 speed which makes driving this car feel more like a sports car over my previous auto cars and my wife loves this thing. I did after a few days owning the car replace the Brembo brake pads with Power Stops because the brake dust was horrible! Enough rambling here is a few pictures I took recently and also used the car in 2 parades since buying it...

Get some OEM style side skirts and some front splash guards to protect the sides of the car. You will be glad you did in the long run. PS: side skirts will further improve the appearance IMO.

Your right about fifth to seventh. But honestly I usually go fifth to sixth and leave it there for highway cruising. Much more responsive without a need to downshift when messing around a bit and sounds better on track mode exhaust in sixth. When having the exhaust in track mode there's a bit of drone in seventh. Rpms are just too low imo.

Congrats. Regarding the 7 speed the torque making shifting a lot sweeter. You can hammer it or use the torque to skip gears.

Arctic white with the red seats in manual. My twin!
Congrats on the car man.
But it looks like the previous owner installed wheel spacers. Because that rear wheel "looks" like it's sticking past the fender!

Thanks Rob GZ06 I appreciate it and you have a good eye. Yes there is a set of 3/4" steel hub centric spacers with hardened studs on the rear. Actually the tire is just inside the fender lip and hasn't given me a problem with rubbing even on our horrible Louisiana roads. Don't have any plans what so ever to track or drag this car.
