I currently ride a 2004 Road King I bought new in 2004. Highly modded. Also have a 1977 BMW R100S. I’ve had many other bikes over the years including some rare ones like a 1972 Norton 750 Commando and a Daytona orange 1975 BMW R90S. Just sold the R90 a couple years ago and made a nice buck. I do get seller’s remorse whenever I see one for sale now.
I’m thinking about buying a new Indian Chieftan Dark Horse. I like the crouch rockets but they are too fast. I can’t control myself so I need something slower. Yep, I said that.

I race/ride MX at least 100 hours a year. Current bike is a 2019 KTM 450 SX-F. Currently on the couch for 3 months of a 6 month recovery following surgery due to a bad crash resulting in a dislocated shoulder and massive rotator cuff tear. Complete tear of 3 of three 4 tendons that hold the humerus in the shoulder socket.

TRIVIA QUESTION: Any MX guys out there who can identify the rider behind me on the #35 Kawasaki in pic #3?

Hint: His boss is Mitch Payton.

My 00' Turbo Hayabusa that I bought new in Feb 00, built, tuned and raced it myself. Also my 13' BMW S1000RR that I've lightly modded..

I don't get to ride near as much as I used to but, I still have em and they are ready to go any time. Hoping to get some miles in this Winter..

IBTL (In before the lock) moderators don't like bike threads in the car forums. Austin Forkner, Pro Circuit, must be an awesome experience riding with him. One of the cheapest ways on motorized wheels to scare yourself silly is a dirt/MX bike, next up a sport bike. Good luck with your recovery, get well.

Back in my late 30s I bought an FZ6, which I still kinda like but is a bit small for me. I don't want to look like a circus bear. But with four kids and a mortgage I felt just a little too "exposed" in town, so rarely ever ride, to be honest. So, can I ride? Yup. Do I? Not much.

What do you ride?
Tons o' cars and bikes over the years. Current bikes are "his and hers" stripped-down Harleys. If I'd stayed with sport bikes, I'd be long dead.

We'll be givin' up the scooters. It's a lot more dangerous than it once was, with people distracted by texting, being on the internet, and finding their way through various touch-screen menus while driving.
My body is still jacked from a scooter accident seven years ago. Yup, the guy "didn't see me", so pulled out right in front of me.

know what you mean. Had all kinds of dirt bikes and street bikes over the years. Never dropped a bike — had 1 or 2 close calls. Came home from a business trip & Sold my dyna wide glide 15 years ago when I saw a guy on a crotch rocket get caught up in the dualie wheel of a tractor trailer & smeared like a jelly donut on i24 in Nashville.

I do miss it especially in spring. Couldn’t imagine being on a bike today with people driving and texting.

just wondered, interesting seeing all the replies.

Yes, bicyes count, I used to have a Specialized ShivTT I raced. I think we all just like fast stuff.
This forum has been like this for two decades, give or take. On one hand, you have motor sport enthusiasts. On the other hand, you have logo enthusiasts. No matter if it's a Ford, Ferrari, Viper, or Corvette forum there is a handful of those guys.

Hayabusa is amazing. 20 years ago it was on dealer floors and could trap 145mph in a quarter for around $10k. That's absurd.lol Now days, Z06 is in super car territory and still won't sniff 130, yet it is still much, much quicker/faster than 99.9%.
Regarding pedal bikes, wish I could still ride. Was putting in 150 to 200 a week between road and off road. Hell, fast bicycles were the original gateway to all this stuff.
I still have a nice Trek and Raleigh that collect dust. Super jealous of being able to race and/or have fun on a nice Specialized!

Got a Honda 90 around 1965, then a Honda 450 in the late 1960's. I lived in west Los Angeles back then (now I'm in Orange County), and most of the riders back then had British bikes, with the Norton probably the best of them since it had the rubber mounted subframe and engine, although Triumphs were more popular. The shorter riders preferred Sportsters, since the British bikes were relatively tall. For choppers, the most popular engine in those days was the pan head, and a popular trend on the engine was everything chromed except the barrels which were flat black. I finally got a Norton 850 Commando around 1975, but the places that could work on Nortons closed up shop , so I sold it and got a Suzuki GS1100e in 1982, then Kawasaki ZX-11, and then the 2001 Hayabusa. I got to see a few historical bikes back around 1970, Vincent Black Shadow, Royal Enfield Atlas, Ariel Square Four, ... .

I have a 2015 C7 Z06 3LZ M7 (without Z07), and it's nowhere near as fast as the Busa. The power to weight (including rider) on the Busa translates into a Z06 with 900 hp, and the bike is not traction limited (just wheelie limited). Still when on the bike, due to rider position and the power, you don't get a sense of the speed on the bike that you get in a car, even though the bike is significantly quicker.

Attached an image of the Busa. 2001 and 2002 were the only bikes to use the Falcon head pattern. From the side, you can see the modern art style Falcon head with the large screw heads as the eyes, the small screw heads as nostrils in the beak.

There are maybe a handful of people on the planet that have a stock one with low miles and they are sitting on gold mines in the future!

Do you put more miles on this or your other rides? I would love to put on 12k yearly strictly for fun!

I ride but not as often as i like. I'm done for the season anyway but next season i want to transition over to the street fighter type of bike. I don't want to be hunched over anymore, i guess i'm getting old lol. But i may keep this bike for those occasional days when i wanna be in the "racy mood" lol.

I put more miles on my bike than anything else, but I have a lot of cars, so I spread the miles around a lot. I do at least two "long" rides a year (3,000 miles or more), so that ups the miles on the bike too.
