ACS XL Front Rock Guards

i agree. I was just making a simple observation that we could have our cake and eat it too if it did not get so wide so early on.

The proof is in the pudding (pic)
I'm for doing the required job (no rock chips) and hopefully looking good after doing it. Looking "again" closely at the pic of my car above the width of the 'flat' front splash guards is more than enough and the length of the guards below the side skirts is lower than the aftermarket guards (more protection) being talked about here. The color & surface texture match the OEM fender spats to boot and are a hell of a lot cheaper & protect better.
Moving on to the rear you really don't need rear splash guards to protect the side rear fenders against rock chips much less wide ones which 'detract' from the car in my book. However I did add the GM rear ones that stick out slightly from the rear fender which really go unnoticed and I have yet to have anyone notice or say anything about the front ones either unless I pointed them out. Bottom line = No chips.
PS: I started out with ACS guards but the model before their last offering and they did not do the job. The homemade front ones not only do the job but the color and surface texture match the OEM spats along with not sticking out as far.

SIDE VIEW: Chrome wheels, ACS side skirts & the home made splash guards. Yes, I know even when looking you can hardly see them.
REAR VIEW: The Pearl/Nickel "factory" wheels with the newly installed splash guards. If you go back to post #32/33 you will see after a few "back to black" treatments over time on both the spats & the splash guards they look the same.
FRONT VIEW: Uses OEM mounting holes.

I installed mine per gve instructions and never had any problems. I would also test fit before drilling the holes because If you want to make them shorter I would remove the material from the already hand trimmed top of the splash guard and not from the factory straight cut bottom and just move it up to meet the fender spat. And make sure the outside edge is vertical and not on a angel when you install (that would look cheesy ). PS: where the top of the splash guard meets the bottom of the spat I took a hand file to do a 'fairly' nice blend job, see 'rear view' above.

One of our members, GVE, has extensive posts on this subject, brand names for flaps, measurements, etc. I had them on my 2016 Z06. I'm still laughing here about how much top speed will be lost with effective rock guards.
I guess it's all a matter of priorities....for me, I could give a crap less if the rock guards I installed cost me 4-5 mph top speed, but protected my cars paint finish. GVE can fix you up, for sure, if you like the home made ones better.

for those that are curious about the most aerodynamic way to shape a wheel well, this car has it correct. Not that it matters for most peoples purposes, most people arent trying to set speed records in their vettes, but just saying, this is why i brought up the shape towards the top of the guard:

Either way is cool. What is NOT cool is the black plastic crap that goes around the wheel the other way. Spats? I don’t know the name of the. How do we swap that out for slums Carbon Flash??

Does anyone make the entire front wheel molding in real carbon fiber besides APSISUSA? I've got carbon fiber side skirts on my car and would like to match that with the wheel surround. Unfortunately, ACS doesn't make the spats in carbon fiber.

I have that too Z06’s/07 3LZ package
Carbon Fiber side skirts and front splitter
but the front corner pieces-I CANNOT think what they are called and the back bumper is Carbon Flash
so the extended wheel well molding is going to meet Carbon Flash
i have some of each on my. Every one does. Except if they swapped it all out

Thanks Rich,
Im not to far from NJ. Yes the weather sucks. Almost in March that is a good sign. I removed my Rockguards because my car will be going into the middle of March for the Paint correction, Full body Suntex wrap and ceramic coat. Then I will put them back on. I think it is better to have them off because of doing the paint correction. After that is getting the 500 miles on it .

twoweeled....I'd call ACS if I were you. I can not remember the owner's name, but every time I have called, he's answered the phone. He is very helpful and very intelligent on the subject of these guards and how they hook up to the Z06. If you have an issue, I'll bet he can help you.
