I have had 2 extended warranties, one on '14 Vette & one on my granddaughter's '14 Nissan Versa. My warranties didn't pay till OE warranty expires, so I assume (OH CRAP) yours won't either. This means you're paying for something that can't be used till OE's expires. So in effect, you are getting only getting a warranty after 3/5 yrs & 60K (7 BB & 5 powertrain + 30K). Most folks say, me included, wait till near end of OE warranty then buy the extended one. I realize you MIGHT have to pay a bit more waiting that long but look at how long you've been paying for something you can't even use for years. JMHO & I am sure I'll get lit up for my opinion, that's what some do here. PS: As lordofwar above posted, all this is moot if you continue to drive so few miles & sell in 3-5 yrs.

Solid advice. There's little downside to deferring closer to the expiration of your factory warranty. I've taken this approach on other extended warranties I've opted to buy and I'll be looking at doing the same for my Z. I plan on keeping it (and keeping it stock) but a lot can happen in 5 years, including some asshat rear ending me and totaling it, in which case all that money lost on a warranty would just be salt in the wound.

The GM plans provide pro rated refunds for the remaining portion of the warranty. I have the 0 deductible 84 month 56K added miles version that I put on the car with 5 months remaining on the B2B so I will have close to 10 years of fairly extensive coverage.

Is this GMEPP platinum warranty? If you're planning to sell it in less than 2-3 years, cancel the warranty. I'm assuming you'll get 6-8k+ back easily depending on when you bought the car.

I stated earlier that I have used CarChex on my '14 Z51 & my granddaughter's '14 Nissan Versa. Didn't use on my Vette because I bought 3 mos. before 3 yr warranty expired & planned on using it if I couldn't sell my Vette privately in a timely manner. Traded it in after 1 mo. of extended warranty for '16 Z & all remaining payments were canceled & refunded IMMEDIATELY. Figured it would be good selling point if sold privately but didn't need it. They have paid for 3 fixes on my granddaughter's car, no problems AT ALL! Might be worth anyone's time to check this company or other's before buying the recommended plan(s) on here. CarChex has Titanium Plan (basically B to B) for 6 yrs. They VERY plainly show in coverage form (can be viewed online @ their site) ALL EXCLUSIONS! They were quite cheap (IMO) & I pay on my grandkid's car monthly for 2 yrs (till this Apr) then it's paid for & warranty continues another 50K or 2022. Bought for her also 3 mos. before OE warranty expired. I saw a post above (csvette8) talking about getting back 6-8K back. I hope his price was wrong, mine was a 3rd of that. Saving big bucks is always good IMO.

I bought a used 2015 C7 Z06 3LZ M7 (without Z07) a few months ago, and bought a GM 0 deductible 10 year, 10k warranty (that's 10 years after I bought the car (2028) and 100k more than the mile the car had on it when I bought it).

Who charges that much for the platinum plan? I only paid $2500 for the one I purchased toward the end of the B2B warranty. Supposedly you pay less for it if you purchase when you purchase the car but then it doesn't really cover anything until the B2B factory warranty expires.

I purchased the GM Platinum plan and saved about $600 by purchasing it through a forum vendor (versus my dealer). Also, its transferable if you sale your car within the coverage period. I paid $1200 for the 8 year/54000 mile contract. My 2016 Z06 has 10000 miles, and i took delivery in July 2015.

Yes, I got my plan from Dennis Fichtner. The prices are good. If you don't drive the car a lot of miles per year go with the most months and minimal mileage. In general all cars no matter make/model average at least 1 repairs per year after the first three years. There are some brands that average out to .75 repairs per year but for an individual there will be 0 or 1 with 3 out of 4 people falling on the one side. You can't have 3/4 of a repair.

I bought a 2016 CPO Z06 in August. Right now, it has 16400 miles on it. Today I paid $3647 for 84mo/100000mi/GMEPP Platinum plan/0 Deductible from one of the forum vendors. It expires 2-14-2026

How much was that if you don't mind me asking? I bought the 84 month 56,000 extended GM warranty when I bought my 2019 Z new back in May of 18 for $1885.00 with a $100 deductible per incident. Which means only 4 yrs after B2B.They said it would be a lot more if I waited or at least more

The warranty is good when you own the car and golden when you sell the car. It gives any buyer a lot of piece of mind about the purchase and it is tranferable. So I buy for both those reasons.
