Whipple - Bolt on application?
Gents.. I’ve searched on YouTube and some basic searches here but don’t seem to get the info I’m after. Here is a bit of background on myself.. I’ve owned my C7Z06 (16 M7) since new and haven’t really done anything to it besides an Xpipe and Halltech stinger intake. She has about 4K miles on it now and I’m itching to do some upgrades.
here are my questions:
1) can the whipple supercharged be used along with the stock headers with cat?
2) what type of power can be expected with such a setup?
3) really want to hear the supercharger better! I see that this ask is satisfied with the whipple.
4) what’s used to tune? HP tuners ?
5) maybe I’m not doing the right type of search.. can y’all provide me any links to videos or threads with more info?
6) realistic amount to spend for such a mod.

Yes you can buy a whipple kit. The output from just the stand alone mod of a 2.9 would be severely held back without supporting mods of t least headers and intake.

I'd still never put headers on one of these cars, even if it cost me 100hp. I hate the tinny sound and the no-cat smell, but a 2.9L whipple should bolt on there nicely.
Here's the biggest Whipple I've ever done, though you night have hood issues.

If you are spending $9k for a 2.9 might as well do a low side fuel system (that gets you past the fuel pressure drop over 750 wheel), then do port injection mod (on whipple) and throw a set of 1000cc FIC injectors and a Crawford Racing Holley 2,0 port injection system. That allows you to fuel to 1500 horse and not affect the DI hence keeping factory driveability, reliability, etc. 30% larger DI injectors, larger HPFP (high pressure fuel pump), 33% larger cam lobe all equate to $$$ and a fixed power output. Save the money and do a port injection system and the sky's the limit. OR go the cheap route and just spray methanol but that's never my recommendation. For many reasons....

C5-vert, how did we get to 9k?? I’m seeing them with an msrp of 6k and I’m hoping for a nice BFS deal. I’m ok with 700whp and don’t really need much more since I have other toys with more power. Don’t want them all scary fast.. lol

Call Ben at Weapon X he can help you. They were the first shop to adapt the 2.9 Whipple for the C7 Z06. You will burn the cats out on the stock exhaust manifolds with this SC but you could consider doing cat delete down pipes and using a catted mid pipe. Doubt you would get any smell as long as you stick with the stock cam.

Sorry, should have broken that down. I saw where you didn't have long tubes and honestly, I wouldn't do a Whipple, Procharger, Maggy 2650, or even possibly Maggy 2300 without a good set of long tubes + x-pipe. That's going to severely restrict power. Also, you will need HP Tuners + a tune(s) so there are $299 + tunes. Should put you around $9k. Course then we get into the fuel system where the real money stacks up (yes I can speak from experience). It gets expensive when you want to FUEL 800+ wheel properly with the capability to push past 1000. Just my .02.

1. Whipple can be used on stock engine/exhaust up to about 700whp
https://weaponxmotorsports.com/produ...=4057787891739
2. Depends on supporting mods and what you want to put into it, but an extra 125-150HP
3. Whipple LTs all sound the same, so email me and I can send some links if you want
4. We can send a calibration with the kit
5. same as 4, we've had quite a few shops around the world order these, actually a LOT more recently
6. I can set you up with a complete kit from bolt on, to cam kit, do full 1000 HP kit with our port injection setup if you want it all! It's the same setup Greg Banish likes that is on the Trans Am Worldwide Camaro conversion cars!

Now as right now, but my guess is will sometimes around thankgiving. Honestly, saying at this point that the TVS is worse than Whipple is speculation, like its was said before, its unproven, so that means its true in both ways! The whipple is a great blower tho. I just like the TVS cuz of its OEM look and fit! But dude, why swapping blower for your power goals!!!??
I made 698 WHP and 757WTQ with upper pulley, LTs, CAI and ported TB alkycontrol straight up meth and a tune!

Im ideally looking to do some mods and get to about 700-750whp and keep it as simple as possible. Possibly the blower and headers. Anything else I’d absolutely need for this power goal?
