What's with Tesla drivers?

There is a guy in a 100D I see quite a bit, I know what his car is, he knows what mine is. Been beside him at a light and he pulled away hard, not as hard as it can. Tesla's are brutal off the line, but performance wise they are kind of a one trick pony.

I will eventually buy one when they come down a bit and there is a little more competition on the market. The weight makes them hell on the performance tires, over 4000lbs without passengers and like any car with a lot of tq they need good tires to hook. My IT guy didn't know what it was like to have to shell out $1300 for a set of tires coming from a Honda Accord.

I have a P100D and I don't tailgate anyone, so... I've heard a few Corvette generalizations that likely aren't fair as well, so out of logic, you should ignore this one too.
Now if you have hairy knuckles, lots of chains, tight paints, and a crystal hanging from your mirror, maybe a Tesla will tailgate you!

Try it with a P100D. Just floor it and go. No traction problems

All-wheel drive Teslas, and even Subarus, can be monsters from 0-60. All cars have their strengths and weaknesses. I would never dream of challenging even an all-wheel drive Subaru off the line, on wet pavement.

Living in Silicon Valley Cali, I get it a lot not so much in tailgating but from the stop sign. Usually a guy with P version Model S and a personalized plate like “ EVlover” who prob belongs to the TSLA forums trying to convert people from ICEs...Torque from the line and gas efficiency while not looking like a Volt are their selling points. Push it hard and you’ll find going Ludicrous for long kills your day’s charge and curves are not really your friend.
i think it’s first, a byproduct of the way they’re marketed here, the Tesla dealer says a “P” could beat a performance car...
It drives better than your average sedan, takes a moment to get used to the soundless operation and regenerative brakes. It’s a fine compromise as the only car but driving it got boring for me really fast...

you only give them satisfaction by playing their game and if you do they just brag to friends in future feds will require sound so blind will be able to hear you, probably get a little old lady/man mode, young person mode and maybe performance sound mode. lol

Yup, I've had many seriously un-competitive vehicles act like they were trying to challenge me. Mostly, I think, they just wanted me to get on it for their own entertainment.

As for 0-60, the P100D is more of a 1-150 hero. That's when the Z would catch up, right around 140-150 I figure.

The guys who have never seen a Tesla on the road are just missing them as they are plentiful and pretty much look like every other car at a glance or in your peripheral view.
