Default Who chose not to X-pipe her?

For all those who chose NOT to install an X-Pipe..why? I just don’t see it making the stock npp much louder, obviously it’ll free up the flow a little but is it worth the change? So far I installed a Katech ported tb, just ordered an afe intake but not sure if I really need to do an x pipe.

I did the x-pipe and it made a much bigger difference in sound than I expected. Definitely worth the $$$.

Xpipe is worth far more than any CAI on these for the money. A BMS filter can be had for under $100 and make within 10 hp of the $500-$700 CAI. My Borla Xpipe made a huge difference at WOT. Still quite noticeable driving around town with valves open as well.

My 18 zo6 auto is completely stock and on Friday I’m having them put on just a corsa x pipe just for the sound. No tuning, no air filter or cai, just x pipe. I’ll let you all know how it goes. Keeping all my stock factory stuff also in case I want to go back to stock. The guy claims it will sound better and no check engine lights will come on either.

The borla xpipe was the single best mod i did to the car.

Well next to the PTB. I think they're neck and neck lol

I didn't do the xpipe for performance, i strictly did it for sound. I know there's a video posted that the borla net the most gain to a 2017 M7. I think it picked up 25rwhp? Which is pretty impressive for just a bolt on part with no tune.

So if i gained that, great. Even if i gained half of that, still great. But the sound was worth the money.

If you think your stock setup sounds good, even in track. Throw a catless xpipe on there. You'll find yourself revving higher in each gear and turning rev match on so you can hear those insane nascar loud downshifts. (if you're manual btw, auto guys don't know about the aggressive snappy downshifts )

Borla is good for about 5 ponies.. Corsa double helix sounds better but no ponies. I did the Corsa before I knew this. Its a relatively cheap mod either way, and no engine lights for either. I couldn't leave her alone. Car sounded too tame with the stock pipes even with the NPP. And next step.. a good exhaust which would be good for another few extra ponies.

Is the Borla X-pipe warranty friendly - I know it is reversible but has anyone any issues with warranty work at the dealer? Thanx.

Had one on the Z51 and loved it (Borla). But not the Z06. Opted for a catback exhaust to avoid possible warranty issues on the Z. Down the road I'll probably put one on!

There is nothing the Xpipe can do to damage the car. All that’s going on is it removes the rear resonators that keep it a bit quiet. Only problem one may have is with emissions testing if it gets caught on a visual check. Most just swap the stock one back for testing.

I've done the Borla X-Pipe on both of my C7's (z51 & Z06). Makes a nice difference in the way the car sounds. If it makes some extra ponies then that's great too.

That doesn't mean that GM can't claim it does, by altering air flow and fueling.

I'm not giving GM any excuses to void the warranty.

The car makes more power and torque than I will ever need or use. The sound effects alone would be more than enough to make me happy.

Sounds like your better off keeping it stock. Nothing wrong with that. It’s great stock as well.
