Default Z06 Stage 1 aero side skirts

Guys, out of observation, it seems that GM is putting a slim side skirt on the 2017 and up stage 1 are cars, is this correct? I have a 2015 stage 1 aero car and am wondering if installing these on my car (nothing there from factory) would help with rock chips by the rear brake duct inlets? Any thoughts? Just curious and kicking ideas around.

Good deal.

Anyone happen to know what is involved to install the factory 2017 skirts on the 2015? I don't want to get into drilling into a $70k car.

Drilling and riveting!

I have the 3/4's and ACS splash guards and no rock chips that in can see in 15k miles.

yep they are held by rivets. I am sure you could use some 3m body tape but i would screw them in if i was going to add them.

Torch-Red, I like the idea of the ACS guards. They look like an effective solution that wouldn’t necessarily affect the aero of the car or look like something that was an afterthought. How is their quality?

Check out Veloz Designs, he's on FB. Very reasonable and much more durable than any of the other offerings.

have 2017 stage 1 and the side skirts keep the chips away and keep the car cleaner. I do like the way the car looks better without them. But they were on my car when I bought it new. So the leading edge of the lower brake cooling duct doesn’t get chipped I lined it with black pin stripe decal bought for 5 bucks from Autozone. Can’t see it and it has taken a few hits and saved the duct from pits or getting sand blasted

On that rear brake duct, some of the guys talked me into black electrician's tape on that brake duct carbon fiber frame. Looked great, you couldn't even tell it was on the brake duct from 3-4 feet away. Best part about it, after a while it can get some dings in it, just rip it off and install new tape. Simple, works well and inexpensive!
