Default What rpm are you at in top gear at 90mph?

I am at like only 1700 rpm on the A8 in Sport mode. Truly nuts and wondering where everyone else is at.

My car is heavily modified. But this seems to indicate I could do well over 200 mph.

In theory, you could go over 300 mph in 8th gear before running out of rpms, if the car had enough power to overcome the air drag etc. But it doesn't. Top speed is usually attained in 6th.
7th and 8th are for fuel economy and decreased emissions.

If you have enough power, you might be able to pull 214 mph in 6th, if your rpm limit is still set at 6500 and your torque converter is locked. Shift to 7th, and you will probably slow down because of the torque reduction to the rear wheels with the higher gear.

C7 Z06 M7 speed vs gears (aero 3, aero 1 top speed 9 mph faster at 195 mph)

Code:
1st 2.29 = 66 mph @ 6500 rpm
2nd 1.61 = 93 mph @ 6500 rpm
3rd 1.21 = 124 mph @ 6500 rpm
4th 1.00 = 150 mph @ 6500 rpm ( 35 mph @ 1500 rpm)
5th 0.81 = 186 mph @ 6500 rpm ( 43 mph @ 1500 rpm)
6th 0.67 = 225 mph @ 6500 rpm (186 mph @ 5400 rpm 52 mph @ 1500 rpm)
7th 0.45 = 333 mph @ 6500 rpm (??? mph @ ???? rpm 77 mph @ 1500 rpm)

the only mod that is going to change your cruising RPMs is tire height. if everyone is running stock(ish) height tires then everyone runs the same RPM at a given speed.

so the more power you develop wont lower your RPM. only TIRES ? Its all TIRES ? What about gearing ?

Now i am around 800 whp vs 560 whp stock. I never did check this when stock so not sure ?

i am HP Tuned so dont think my RPM is that low. My TCM is heavily tuned to. My car JUMPS FORWARD when I shift the A8 manually !

Power won't change RPM at ALL. If you get stronger legs, when you peddle a bike, the wheel still goes around the same amount of times in the same distance. It's like that. Gearing will change your RPMs, but you'd either have to change the transmission or the final drive ratio by getting a new rear end. Whether you somehow reduced the hp to 100, have stock hp, or are pushing 1200 (assuming factory diameter wheels/tires and no trans or rear end change) they're all going to be at 2k rpms at 100mph

Power has nothing to do with your rpm, it's tires and gearing.

If you have stock tire sizes and gearing, with 800rwhp, you're just going to get to the top speed much faster than a 560rwhp, obviously.

yes, gearing also, however, if you think about it, tires are gearing.
