That's my opinion too, but my "spousal unit" has other artistic opinions, so our Z06 came home with black wheels, and that's what we still have. She and I have both messed up before when it came to getting things right the first time.

Hey, if I bought her a set of C7-Z06 chrome wheels for Christmas, might it be better than the household cleaning products I usually give her?

Default I was working from pictures in 2015 when I ordered.

I did not want to spend an extra $2,000 for the chrome wheels when you get the nickel/silver wheels as OEM 'BUT' after a while seeing the chrome I could not stand it anymore, silver just does not cut it like chrome on certain colors. So I bought 2 chrome 'OEM' fronts and 2 18X12" chrome clones for the rear.

Now in hind sight I'm glad I did it & wish I would of just ordered it that way. PIC with the 18" rear China clones on MT drag radials.

PS: If I really had it all to do over again knowing what I know now in 2015 I would of went with the $1,000 extra for 'Crystal' Red with the chrome wheels; that combination really POPed.

Is it true GM won't accept orders for chrome wheels unless the buyer is 70+ years old and orders an automatic? I also heard it had to be a convertible as well but I doubt this to be accurate.

A few things need correcting. 1) Its 65 years old the same age as Medicare and they are all waxers/car show. 2) Old people can't have cool 'black wheels' because to old people all black wheels look like taxi cab rims from across the street. Oh, and all old people can not handle 650 HP or have the skill/etc. to cut a light at the strip and by all means put down an ET or MPH worth mentioning.

Question: Have you ever seen a much older man ****** a small coin (Kung Fu style) out of a young man's hand but the young man could not ****** the coin from the old man's hand? I Have.

Ha..ha..ha. Someday you will become old too. At this time they will no longer manufacture hideous looking black wheels, nor will they have internal combustion engines then. I can only imagine what your grandchildren will be saying about your fascination with smart phones, selfies, and game apps. Just wait, your days are coming. Your generation lives in a culture where everything is disposable. Medicare will not be available to you and you will have to work until you drop as there will be no Social Security. Let's see how you laugh then.

Default I am what 'you' call "old" but don't feel like it.

I have been on Medicare & Social Security for a number of years now! I have chrome wheels on my Z06 (check above pic) and just a few weeks ago in the "all in 1 race" at Capitol Raceway which is a 1/8 mile bracket shootout for 'everything' meaning: dragsters with electronics, door slammers w/electronics, modified with electronics or foot brake, bikes and real street cars like mine. I was the only street car to enter that day and the total payout i.e. all the money goes to the last one standing. Well I made it to the finals & being I'm a nice guy I offered to split the money with the other guy who agreed so we both went home happy that day.

The point of my above post was I was joking and the Question I asked at the end of the post pointed in that direction. I hoped all would catch that being I just posted a pic of my shark gray Z06 with those gorgeous chrome wheels.

Ok, ok, ok...I’m 53 and this is my 8th ‘vette. I’ve had the pearl nickel, painted aluminum, competition gray, and chrome wheels across all of those previous vettes. I like the black wheels on some cars, my sister has a 2019 WGG with black wheels and it’s badass, but chrome is by far, my favorite.

Ah Ha! Fooled me. So then... you did not take any selfies being that you're 65+??? I stay as active as I possibly can too. The secret I found to living a long life though is to not have black wheels.

Default No Selfies

My old flip cell phone if it does have a camera I don't know how to use it.

PS: You inspired me to post a pic (avatar) of me at 63 waxing my first Corvette. A Bad to the Bone Darth Varder Black 2010 Grand Sport (with ordered chrome wheels) which I traded in on the ordered 15.

I have seen MANY under the age of 65 that couldn't handle a Z06. Most under that age dont respect what 650 hp brings to the table. They are better off driving a chevette than a corvette.

Is it just me or did this thread go from congratulating the OP for his new Z to something darker?

First, have you done a comparison with your sisters car? Curious of you notice any performance difference. Second, is you're sister single?

Your Sister's car looks faster. Might be the black wheels, but more than likely, the Dark Gray Paint. Sinister color

Oh, and have her show her neighbor this post about pressure washing or cleaning their siding. Gross.

This stuff works, too
