The Dilemma of Borla vs Corsa!!
I’m in a quandary in deciding of a Borla or Corsa X pipe vs just living with the stock system. I have read and watched just about everything I could find on the forum and YouTube videos on the subject.....AND there are a lot. Weight, Torque, HP, Dyno research, Materials, Diameters, etc, etc. All are excellent! Unfortunately for me when I listen to the audios i get more confused! For me at least I have trouble distinguishing the subtle differences!! Ultimately I need to find someone close by with a car with the mod to make my final determination. At the risk of being repetitious, I need your input! Are you happy with your decision!!?? Any regrets plus or minus: BORLA VS CORSA VS STOCK!!!

Isn't borla cheaper, fits better, lighter, provides more hp/tq, and sounds better (in my opinion) over the corsa??
Why would anyone get the corsa then other than to be "different"?
The corsa makes the car sound more exotic. We don't exotic cars. The borla brings the sound to what you might have experienced with LS engines. It's not exactly the same but it gets the sound close to it. The corsa brings the sound away from it and makes it more exotic sounding. If that's what you want, that's the one for you.
I went with borla. And if i had to do it again, borla again.

I have the Corsa and bought a Borla. I will be swapping in the spring. I know that doesn't help you, but I'm hoping to change the tone to a little more "muscle car" rather than exotic.

This thread will be identical to the dozens already out there. Not sure what more you want. This topic has been covered many times. I have had both systems on my car and settled on the Borla for reasons you have already read. It's really not a life changing decision. Just buy one.

Corsa sounds way better in my opinion and looks better also. Never compared build quality or weight but I had no problem with install. The only negative I have is I gave up the cutouts and now its too loud for my 4 am starts. My prob is I dislike the sound of the Borla and don't want to spend 5k on an exhaust so I may have to go back to stock.

PS: Let me just add that the Corsa I tried was slower than the stock setup at the track, so the stock system went back on and the lost power returned.

I wanted the America Muscle Sound and not the Euro Exotic Sound so I went with the Borla for the more aggressive American Muscle Sound. It is as most have already said, what are you looking for, is it American Rumble Muscle or Euro Exotic sound and once you answer the question the choice is easy and straight forward so don't over-complicate!

I chose the Borla X-pipe for the advantages listed above. However, if I wanted a full system including the axle-back, thus giving up the NPP, I would have went with the Corsa X-pipe and Xtreme axle-back kit with black tips.
I have the Corsa X-pipe and Indy Pro axle back kit on my C5 vert. I know they are different animals, but I've always liked the sound of the system. The Borla X-pipe matched up to my stock axle-back NPP system on my C7Z is less exotic but more throatier. Especially matched up with my M7 and ARM. Luv it!

Yes borla would give off that class american sound, corsa makes the car sound exotic. Like a aston martin or something. Nothing wrong with that, but our cars don't fit that description. It's not an exotic. Make it sound like a vette. Get a borla.

The Corsa has a "ringing" or "screaming" quality to it versus lower end "growling" you might expect from stock/Borla. You won't notice it much unless you've hitting the throttle hard. The initial cold start blast sounds like glass breaking.

OP did you see this video?

Just watched the video. The borla & corsa made about the same but one thing that I found interesting was the borla's afr was richer (safer) which means its less likely to cause engine damage in my book. Add to that less weight and cheaper to boot. A no brainier IMO if I was going to purchase another X-pipe.

I have the same dilemma of choosing between corsa and borla and it sounds like borla is hands down the better x-pipe if you exclude sound. The sound is where my issue is. I've watched SO many videos (including the one in this thread which i found previously googling) and I can't really tell the difference. Exhaust on a video is a very poor representation, so I'm not surprised. The thing that I keep reading is that the corsa is more "exotic" sounding, but I'm not sure what that even means. No one has ever elaborated on it and from the videos, it just sounds like a Corvette, to me. Can anyone expand on it? What gives it the "exotic" sound? Is it more high pitched? Pop more on deceleration? What's the "exotic" part?
