Default MRC update rough ride

I have a 2016 Z06 and had the MRC update done last summer. I’ve only put maybe a 1000 miles on since. I feel the car rides rougher than before the “update” was done. Anyone else experience the same results?

I also had the update done last year on my 2015 Z07 M7 Coupe. I actually found the ride to be more compliant than stock, FWIW.

I had it done last year on my 15 Z06/Z07 and noticed the difference on the way home from the dealership, In Tour Mode the ride was less harsh on bumps. Still firm but had that bump slap softened to make the ride more comfortable.

I had the update done on my 16’ Z this summer and every setting was noticeably better. Almost like there was less jarring and more controlled movement of the suspension in every setting.

I had our 2016 A8 Z07 done in April right after winter storage (parked in October) and I really could tell no difference. My butt memory was dulled from snowplowing and I was just happy to get the car out of the garage. I don't track so I don't begin to see the capabilities of the car.

Ride is much more compliant on mine and my buddy's Z06.

OP. Maybe in your head you imagined it was softer but in reality it wasn't. You need a ride in one with old calibration. You'll notice it right away.

I drove my buddy's to the dealer to get that done and his dash replaced and the ride was jarring v mine.

Mine is at the dealer as we speak for a few things, including a possible MRC update. The reviews have been all over the place. Funny thing is, it’s one of the top Corvette dealerships in the country and they had no clue what I was talking about when I mentioned it. They told me to call Monday to speak with a someone who can look into it for me. Crazy. Anyway, I hope it’s worth it. I’m thinking it may be better just to skip the upgrade and install the DSC controller.

After the update My ZO7 feels more compliant over bumps and slightly less harsh especially in sport mode which I use mostly.

Same experience as Bill on my 2016 Z07 which was updated last spring.

I think the upgrade was the cat's meow! The car rides SO much better, but only in low speed <35 scenarios so far as I can tell... Certainly not firmer, in my estimation. And only in Tour so far as I can sense any difference.

2016 Z06/07 done last spring...noticed the change immediately and it was significant. Exactly how Tadge described it in the specific “Ask Tadge” thread same subject.

Those that say no difference, or worse, likely experienced a failed or wrong download...or no download at all because dealer told you it has the “latest software”.

Best $350 I've spent on the car. Definitely worth it

For those who have done the upgrade, what was the impact to your lap times? I'm especially wondering from those who have the Z07 suspension.

When mine was done they said this exact thing, that I had “the latest calibration” no upgrade required, but after reading the service paperwork I realized they were N0T talking about the “UPGRADE”. Went with service manager to his office where he quickly read the info I provided about the upgrade & it got straightened out.

They didn't charge you $350 the first time around did they?

Only once after I got it straightened out. I’m not picking on anybody but folks really need to be proactive & make sure they are well informed before “assuming” that dealers/service managers are always up to date with current info. I experienced the same type of problems with them understanding why the rear caster was so important & how to acquire the proper tools to set it.

What difference did you notice after the upgrade> Do you track your car?
Thanks.

I had mine done last year as well and noticed ZERO difference. Not remotely worth the money from what I got from it. I seem to be in the minority though
