Sounds like a 20k package to me.

Parts and labor. Which isn't a bad deal at all.

But the ZR1 will still have 1 thing, well 2 things an LMR packaged Z06 won't have.

1: The ZR1 badge
2: The factory warranty

The badge and looks are subjective.

but the warranty is moot. Get a Z06 for 65k and spend 20 even 25 and you're Still so far ahead of the game.

the resale can be debatable.

awesome video though. What does it run in the 1/4 and 60 to 130?

Is it an overheating issue or a car goes into limp mode issue?

Even a mild bold on Z06 will be as fast or faster than a ZR1. I have a pulley, cat delete and tune and made 625 hp and 675 torque. I would say a race against a ZR1 would be close and I'm at like 2k in parts and tuning lol

It is the overheating which causes the car to go into "limp" mode.

That's great but again, he still has a ZR1 which is top of the line and he still has his warranty.

So you could have 1200rwhp z06 and stomp every ZR1 in sight. When engine goes kaboom, so does your bank account paying to fix it.

ZR1 owner will say damn sorry man, that's a shame. And continue on with his STOCK 755hp, warrantied monster

Pretty drastic outcome there? My buddy runs mid 9s at 145 in his A8 Z06 pump gas and has 100s of passes on it. Engine seems fine. Car keeps getting faster. Not the OPs set up but regardless a modded Z06 done right will last as long as anything else out there as long as the tune is on and you dont screw up the fuel.

and yes the ZR1 owner has the "better" car but tht is a big jump up in price about double for equal trims when compared to a Z06. Performance bargain of a lifetime.

No one can predict the current health and longevity on any engine in any car. That's why cars come with a powertrain warranty. For that "what if" moments.

If we all can conclude our cars will last forever after "100 passes" running 9 seconds, all of us will not give a f*ck about our warranties and start modding away.

The fact is, these cars are expensive and to gain 100-200hp and kill our warranty, just to say you're faster than a ZR1 at a fraction of the price, seems silly.

There's a reason why there's certain levels to particular models of certain cars. You pick the car that fits your needs. You want a z06 that's cheaper and pour money in it to make faster, that's awesome. But then you don't have a warranty, and you still don't have the top of the line model.

That's why people get the top of the line models. So they don't have to modify it. It's already set, from factory, with the warranty. And that top tier model badge.

You realize that 1200rwhp Z06 will spank the ZR-1 at half throttle. Full throttle pulls are for other 1000+ cars.

You do realize a pull at any given moment in a 1200rwhp z06 can make the engine go kaboom. Now the owner has to pay 20k for a new engine.

Whereas the ZR1 owner can beat the **** out of his car and if it breaks, no problem. Bring it in and GM will replace it.

Until the ZR1 breaks after the warranty is up, then they are both fucked. At that point it's build a big 1000+hp beast.

I've got a bolt on Z06 that I'm pretty happy with, makes more TQ then this head/cam car... Seems like your #s should be a bit higher for all those mods...

But to answer the question, it's a hard one, I mean you can't really make an apples to apples comparison when one car is stock and the other is modded...You could ask the same thing about my supercharged C5, it will spank my Z and the ZR1, but they are all different animals!

Pretty sure a typical C7 owner doesn't keep their C7 after the warranty is up.

I didn't even have my car 3 years yet and i wanna upgrade. I think if i had a ZR1 i would only have it 3-4 years as well before moving on again.
