Default 2017 Z06 Launch Control

I have 2017 ZO6 when i try to do a burn out the computer wont let me . I've tried everything turning the TC off putting it in race mode still wont spin back tires .also when i'm in park engine will only rev up to 4000 rpm . I bought car brand new it has the carbon fiber ceramic brake package, this is my 4th vette. My 2014 Z51 i could do a burn out in race mode. Is there any way you can let me know what im doing wrong .my email chtimdfr@yahoo.com

I would suggest you research this further before trying as I have not tried it. When I purchased mine, the Finance Manager told me if I press the Traction Control and hold it for around 13 seconds, it shuts everything off and you're "free *****." If it does work, not sure how to turn it back on. Mine is an M7, so not sure if that makes a difference.

Again, this method probably needs to be researched before trying.

Others may want to chime in, as most if not all, on this forum are way smarter than me.

The manual can be very useful. Push the Center button twice on the driver mode **** behind the shifter. You should see 2 different light on the dash shutting off all nannies. IF you can’t spin the tires doing this there is something wrong and I’d take it in. I can do a burnout with my M7 without shutting anything off.

never tried a burnout in mine. But pushing the button once turns traction control off and leaves active handling on. That is what is recommended for the drag racers that want to do a burnout to heat the tires up and it is also recommended to keep it in tour handling mode.

When I am in tour with one button push traction control off and I ease into the gas the tires seem to break loose and spin. It doesn’t cut power like it does with traction control on.

Here's some potentially relevant text from the 2018 Owner's Manual:
Starting and Operating New Vehicle Break-In Follow these recommended guidelines during the first 2414km (1,500mi) of driving this vehicle. Parts have a break-in period and performance will be better in the long run. For the first 322km (200mi): . To break in new tires, drive at moderate speeds and avoid hard cornering. . New brake linings also need a break-in period. Avoid making hard stops. This is recommended every time brake linings are replaced. For the first 800km (500mi): . Avoid full throttle starts and abrupt stops. . Do not exceed 4000rpm.

You actually have to turn ON launch control. It's not on by default. You have to put it in track mode and double tap the center button to engage launch control. If you have it in any driving mode and hit the center button, that should turn off traction control and allow a burnout, as others have said. Also as others have said, if that doesn't work, you need to take it in

If you have the Drive Mode set to Track with one of the 5 sub modes called up (Wet, Dry, Sport 1, Sport 2, RACE) launch control is ready to work. Even if you don't do the wide open throttle application like the manual says it will still prevent the tires from burning up. I found that out while running an autocross in Sport 1. When I let out the clutch and launched at 2200 to 2300 rpm at part throttle the rear wheels would spin, catch, spin, catch just like you see in the videos showing a car using launch control. It made for a very quick launch without over powering the rear tires.

If you want to just burn the tires then I would suggest setting the drive mode to tour and pushing the center button once to turn off traction control.

As for how far you can rev the engine in neutral I suspect 4K rpm is about it. Most cars limit the rpms that can be reached when the car is in neutral. As for running in first gear I have no limitations on high the engine will rev until it hits the standard rev limiter. With the M7 I have seen 65 mph in low gear.
