Boys in blue
I truly love our boys in blue and respect what they do but there will always be a few jerks that wear the uniform rather than serve the community in a positive manner. It makes me angry when I see police trolling an organized car meet. I guess as I get older, I look at it as “I’d rather see people there in a controlled environment rather than out doing drugs and acting a fool”. But that’s just my 2cents

Cali is a horrible state to live in. So unfortunate as there are so many great sights and weather can be great. But the laws, politics, taxes etc make it a sh**hole...

I hope they did it under protest. I can’t imagine this is what they had in mind when they joined the force and decided to serve their community.

As usual the folks in flyover states that cry and scream "fake news" are the first to spread fake news.
True: a $30 fix it ticket has gone to a non fixable $25 first ticket. With fees that $25 reaches $193 when you actually write a check. I am certain that repeated infractions can reach the $1000 with costs associated with the tickets but that is the first ticket cost.
Yes you may go to the BAR to get your exhaust certified as not being over 95 decibels. That costs $108. If they don't find it over 95 decibels (reportedly at idle and 2500 rpm and at 20 inches) than you only pay the $108 and carry the compliance certificate in with your ticket and get it dismissed. Now I would pay the $193 rather than go to the BAR if I had LT headers and no cats, but surely somebody will be silly enough to go to the BAR with that latter situation and have a problem but stupidity is its own reward.
This from a SEMA press release. And thanks to SEMA for providing some sanity to the discussion.

If, on the other hand, you decide to just pay the ticket and not deal with the whole certification thing, then you have the issue of repeat tickets. If one cop gives you a ticket, chances are that others will as well. And how much is that 2nd ticket? The 3rd? The 23rd?
Also, who's in a flyover state? All the posts are from TX, NY, SC, NC, MD, GA, and MANY from your own home state of CA. I saw ONE post from Kansas, which would be the only flyover state. Come on man

Spending half a day doing that in the traffic over there is a lot more than $1000 to me.
Also, you're saying "Go do this and that and only pay $XX fine even if you're in compliance".
Do you not see what's f'ed up with that situation?
