Traded to a Z06 from Stingray
My new Ceramic Matrix Z06 M7, upgraded from my 2016 stingray A8. I plan on tracking this car soon, my research suggested changing these items pre-track: better tires, 15-40w Mobile 1, Brake fluid change. Any additional suggestions before a light track day would be appreciated. This car is feels much more stable and confident through turns versus my stingray. My stingray would have trouble if too much torque was applied on exits with oversteer. I've heard this model isn't much different with oversteer, so I'm assuming I'm just driving too slow lol.

You will certainly enjoy this car and a good choice with the M7. Great color.

Congrats! Stock tires will be fine on the track and the drive home. Right on the engine oil and brake fluid. Should replace the rear dif fluid after the event. Chevy has the recommendations for track in the owners manual.

Congrats!!
I like that new color. It's almost like white sometimes, then gray sometimes right?
And how are you liking the M7 over the A8??

15W-40 is definitely not the right oil. GM now recommends 0W-40 Mobil1 ESP for all uses (street and track), and you are no longer supposed to change back and forth. You can use 15W-50 as well, but it's not recommended for street use.
Besides these, I'd also recommend more aggressive alignment and race pads. Anyhow, most of these are already covered by the user's manual, so just take a look : )

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm really enjoying the car now that I've gotten used to the M7, more fun to drive IMO. My confidence got the best of me when I tried race mode with all the traction aids turned off. Apparently I'm not ready for that setting yet lol, oversteer becomes dangerous without split second assistance to keep you from checking a curb, which I did, thankfully in 1st gear playing around on a clear road. Keeping those setting on from now on lol.
