Having this large Corvette buying community know how everything went down between Corvette World and I is enough for me
Wow, what an ordeal. You're a patient person. At least Corvette World is trying to make it right but like you said they shouldn't have ever sold the car to you with cracked wheels. We figured yesterday that they sold it to you that way because there was no way it cracked in the few miles you put on it between Houston & Ft. Stockton. I hope you don't have any further issues on your long journey home.
I have to know one thing, what does your spouse think about all of this? You said yesterday she already doesn't like the Vette and/or riding in it. I hope this hasn't added to her dislike of the car.

Having said that, 'I ain't a killer but don't push me'- at least they gave me the damn wheel. If they hadn't after the second crack discovery, you can bet my attitude towards them would've been far different.
Just happened to have been able to "source" one matching wheel, with a yellow stripe, no less? I smell a rat.
My guess is that they discovered that cracked wheel before you bought the car, ordered the wheel and then forgot to install it. The worst part of this is that the error more than likely came to light after you called the dealer with your complaint. They probably didn't bother to inform you of their mistake lest you, not ask, but demand restitution for all of your expenses in addition to the nerve wracking experience.
Just my opinion.

My thoughts exactly...
That's exactly what I plan on doing. The nicest people I've ever met along with the shittiest roads I've ever driven on- That describes Texas in a nutshell if you ask me
Unfortunately no. There were multiple freeway shutdowns from Houston to San Antonio and due to our late departure from Houston, it was already nightfall by the time we reached San Antonio.
My lady advised against driving at night after seeing all the roadkill littered along that route plus the fact that there were less than 30 street lights between SA and Ft Stockton.
Plus we really like San Antonio so it was basically a no-brainer

Picture tiiiiime!!
San Antonio Riverwalk. Can't get enough of these views
Accidentally left the passenger window down all night last night at the parking garage.. Guess San Antonio is pretty safe because nothing was missing B) Plus it helped I Parked on a level with no cars
Sheraton Gunter Hotel lobby. pretty swanky, no? Got a lot of looks and compliments from the young valet kids ( I self parked) . It's nice to finally be on the other side of these interactions. I remember when I used to work shitty jobs..
Alamoooo!
Baby girl's first time up in the air since I got her!
and I thought the vette was a head turner! Atomic Dog by George Clinton blaring out his sound system
Pork Shoulder from Paesanos Riverwalk. The portions were ridiculously huge. Our waiter informed me in his 5 years working there he'd only seen 3 guys finish it
Parked along a rest area somewhere between San Antonio and Ft Stockton- before all the bullshit went down

Nice pics. Yeah, parking on a floor with no other cars was a good thing with the window down all night in SA.
It would have been nice if Corvette World would have offered to pick up your additional travel expenses but least you're headed in the right direction now with a functional car. I'm sure you'll be glad to get out of TX.
Now that the gov't has reopened maybe you two can stop at some the places you had originally wanted to see but couldn't since they were closed due to the shutdown. Though perhaps with the extra delays/travel time you might not have the time and/or desire to do so. Regardless, keep posting those travel pics.

OMG!! What a bad way to start a trip!! They could have been unaware of the situation. I wouldn't case that as a purposely mistake! Having said that, i would think about getting forged wheels right away, because that WILL happen again! Unfortunately, those wheels (Z06) are **** and will crack again. Best investment you could do is Forged wheels!!

Congrats on the purchase, I picked up my ZR1 from the same dealership back in November, Matt had it transferred to Dallas and I drove back to Phoenix. I thought driving home with a fever sucked!

I am thinking that they lost so much time going back for repairs, that they are now having to just cover so much ground each day to get home and not much to post about.
