Is this Z06 worth it?

Is this Z06 worth it?
I found this z06 at Carmax and already have paid the $200 fee to have it transferred to me to check out in person. Do you guys think its a good buy? I'm coming from a Lexus IS-F and this would be my first corvette. And I keep seeing on forums people swearing the z51 or GS is just as fun and making me regret spending the 20k extra for a z06 I just wanted to hear some opinions from you guys. I would have to add about 40k+ on top of my trade in

Didn’t see what trim level it is. If it’s a 2LZ or 3LZ I think it’s fair. As long as the Carfax checks out. I know right where the Beaverton office is. They do a lot of business.

3 year old 1LZ. I remember a few people paying around $62k for leftover new 2016 1LZ's when the 2017's hit the lot.
If you can find a leftover new 2018 1LZ you can probably get 20% off which is $800 more than this car.
Unfortunately, there's no original window sticker so we don't know if they added any options such as Navi/PDR. Just glancing at it, it looks like they only added the carbon flash painted side mirrors.
I see a few under the hood accessories so if you're going to purchase it, you should have a dealership check the vin to see if the warranty is still intact. Who knows if the car was modded/tuned and then brought back to mostly stock before selling to Carmax.

Sorry it's been a couple years. Had to do a google search and go back, but it wasn't just highly optioned cars. Someone posted one they saw that was $65,xxx for leftover 1LZ.

Must have been a color that wasn’t selling. When I was looking it was hard to find 8k off a no optioned car. These sticker for 80k without any options. So 60k for a low mileage car isn’t bad.

Did they got to 5yr/60k for powertrain warranty for 2016 or 2017?
I don't think there were any changes from 2015 to 2016 so you might be better off paying high 50's for a 2015 with more options and similar mileage.

This seems high to me. I bought a new leftover 2016 3LZ in April of last year, that listed for $110,000 for under $79,000. My car has way more equipment than this one and only has 3700 miles right now. As others have said, I'd look for a new leftover '17 or '18, you'll get a better deal and a full factory warranty.

The first seventeen 2016 models listed on Autotrader are $63K or less (I only searched for automatics with less than 15K miles). For example, the first two:
- '16 1LZ, blue, A8, 7,397 miles $58,970
- '16 1LZ, blue, A8, 14,525 miles $59,471

Just a few of the caps and also the fuse box cover are added accessories. Who knows if intake, headers, etc were ever on the car. Those wouldn't really matter to me though as long as they didn't tune.

- N = 1LZ M7
- P = 1LZ A8
- R = 2LZ M7
- S = 2LZ A8
- T = 3LZ M7
- U = 3LZ A8
You can always spot a Z06 3LZ from interior pics too since it has & I quote Chevy's 'build & price' page of their website:
Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package

Not sure what your experience is or expectations are but going from a Lexus IS-F to a Z06 is going to involve some serious culture shock. Have you done your homework? Test drives?
as far as Z06 v. GS or Z51.....you are asking in the Z06 forum. Answers will be appropriately biased. Other forums will have different biases.

It was up to the dealer to assign the tag, I looked at plenty if 1LZs that had Red Tags; although eventually purchased a 2LZ/Z07 w/nav pdr.

Thanks for all the input guys. With the combination of poor pricing, ricer parts on it, and them ******* me on the trade-in, I have cancelled the transfer and will continue my hunt. Really just wanted the better radio and carbon fiber aero kit and I don't like the thought of being the 3rd owner of a car at 5k miles. Glad you guys could help shed some light on how stripped the car really was.

I personally like the listings on CarGurus better than on Autotrader. On CarGurus they list the trim level right in the title of each individual listing. You don't need to waste time clicking on the listing just to find out what trim level it is. I just did a quick search for used '17 - '19 coupes (all trim levels), under 15k miles, under $70k & they have 170 listings (autos/manuals). If you take 1LZs out of the mix it drops to 91.

Finding an existing car in a particular color/equipped the way you want is a hassle. I searched almost daily for 2 months & was just about to give up or compromise & then all of a sudden the right car at the right price popped up. Good luck with your search.

When looking at C7s the first thing you need to decide is how you are going to use the car. Daily driver? Weekend Car? Show Car? Track Car? Then you can decide which options you want for the particular usage. GM has a 5 year powertrain warranty on all of their cars which went from 100K miles to 60K miles in 2016 or 2017. Not a big change from a mileage standpoint since most Corvettes will run out years before they run out of miles even at the 60K number. That can be said for a lot of cars as the National Average is somewhere around 12K miles per year per car. A key thing to look at when deciding on a car is what the In Service Date is. That is when the warranty was started and that date can be earlier than the first sale date. For instance a dealership owner may decide they want to drive a Corvette for a few months. The day the car starts being used that way the In Service Date is set.

Recently purchased a new/leftover 2018 3LZ for 20+% off... MSRP was just over $100k, purchased for $79k and they threw in a set of Z06 chrome wheels (long story), C7 battery tender, Z06 logo car cover and tinted windows.
