Default ZR1 wheels on your Z06, anyone?

Hey Team!
Just wondering if anyone has swapped out their Z06 wheels with ZR1 wheels. If so, post up some pics. Did a few online pic searches, but no luck. Curious about the look.

Thanks!

Would be a huge downgrade IMHO. The ZR1 wheels are just awful.

Tons of people have done this. There are even ZR1 reproductions available. MMR makes some.

The front wheels are also wider, as far as I know, which would improve the handling.

Not a fan of the ZR1 wheels at all. I think it just looks wrong on the ZR1 and even worse on a Z06. I actually like the Z06 wheels in nickel finish. One of my favorites. But herer's a picture.

Are the ZR-1 wheels the same construction as our Z06 wheels, so prone to bending?

They seem to be built stronger (but they're heavy).

ZR1 wheels are Rotary Forged while Grand Sport and Z06 wheels are cast.

Zr1 wheels are stronger than cast wheels but not as strong as forged wheels.

ZR1, Z06, and GS wheels are the same size.

Isn't ZR1 front wheel 0.5" wider? I remember reading about it...

Looks ugly.

If you want rotary forged, get forgestars. It looks better, you can get better offsets and probably cheaper too.

They are ugly, heavy, and the offset sucks like all OEM wheels! Besides, it would look poser on a Z06, get something much better!!
Like these!!

Can’t post pics but replaced my bent Z06 wheels with forged ZR1 wheels chrome but I like the nickel pearl better. House of wheels
out of Florida Bob gave me a bang up deal. New mich as3’s run flats love the way it drives and handles now.

OFF TOPIC

I still believe that rim bending is due to a combination of cast rims and run flat tires. I switched to MPSS non-RF and I've never had an issue. Not ever with running them in TRACK mode.

They are being bent in transit know problem my dealer had new Z06 off truck with bent wheel. Why would they be looking at that on brand new car that just left factory 8 hours ago. Tying down wheels and car bouncing the only thing to give is the wheel. Think about that

This right here. I know looks are subjective but damn first time I saw those zr1 wheels I said to myself... That's the best they came up with for their flag ship Halo car??? Ugh hideous.

Hmmm. Haven't heard this theory with Z06 owners. Most report having driven the car 1,000's of miles and then having an "event" that bent a rim. Usually tied to driving in track mode on the street. Haven't heard of Z06's delivered with bent wheels. Interesting though.

I'd never put a wrong-option wheel on my car, or an AMG badge on m C300, or stuff like that... and they're not the nicest wheel. No harm in doing so but if you've got the budget for OEM whels, for sure you've got the budget for some decent aftermarket as well!

Regarding strength of ZR1 wheels, I can tell you from my own major pothole encounter that the wheel is very strong. They did bend on the inside of the rim, but there are no cracks.

Regarding comments about how they look, that is in the eye of the beholder. So if you want ZR1 wheels, get them! I have had mine on for6 months and get tons of compliments. (Not so much on my GF, guess I picked a better looking wheel)
