Just yesterday I put in my order for an Elkhart Blue Z06 and I will pick it up at the museum sometime in May. I'm beside myself in anticipation
My hardest decision was the color, it came down to shadow gray which is very sophisticated and understated with a richness that oozes confidence, or the rock and roll exuberance of torch red that would have been my "no hesitation" choice at 25, I still feel 25 but the gray is so elegant. I chose the EL Blue because the color just pops and teases at a playful spirit without screaming for attention. I think it was a good compromise between the gray and red.
In case anyone is interest I got the car with a manual trans because the connection to the driving experience is more important to me than absolute acceleration. It's a 3LZ suede and carbon interior with chrome wheels and every piece of visible carbon on the order sheet , (I like shiny! ). I've not seen another one like it.

I've bought two new, one in 2016 and one in 2018. The 2016 I ordered from the factory and got exactly what I wanted and got an OK deal. I bought that one from my local Chevy dealer who really wanted by 2013 GT-R and gave me a fat trade number on it...got that car in 2 months. Saw a leftover inventory 2018 on the web at Criswells in Maryland and believe it or not, it was an exact clone of my 2016 except it didn't have the yellow calipers on the standard iron brakes like my '16 did (a $500 option back in '16)....2 miles on the odometer. On that one ,I owned an '18 Jaguar type F that was a really nice car (and quick) but I missed the Z06. Saw this one and when I talked with Criswell over the phone, I sent them pictures of my Jag and they offered me more that what they wanted for the '18 Z06....and it stickered for $91K! So, like they say, that was easy! I didn't have this issue, but there are pluses and minuses for both transactions. You get exactly what you want and you re the only driver on the new one. On the inventory one, you get to see exactly what you're buying before you commit to it. Take your pick!

I want to know how you ordered out in the future (7/24/19) and got it later (9/6/19) and yet drive it now. Cuz I want to be able to do that; that way if I end up not wanting the car after a few months, I can go back into the future and un-order it without losing any money on it or try a different Vette because I was suffering from the grass is greener on the other side!

I just put my vote in for buying in stock with 4 miles sitting in the show room floor. Was planning on ordering a grand sport but all the numbers fell the correct way with the deal for getting the Z.
Was not planning on getting black but really wanted the Z06. So i came to terms with getting a great deal and going with a different color and getting the Z.

Ordered mine from a Forum dealer, less than 8 weeks from order date to pickup at the dealer. I was very specific on my options, and I figured if I'm spending around $100k on a "toy" I won't settle for something "close" to what I want. I honestly can't recall the last time I've bought a new vehicle from dealer stock, and I've bought a lot of vehicles.

Just took delivery of a new 2019 Ford pickup last week, factory ordered exactly what I wanted. Most dealers seem to get mid-level vehicles equipped pretty similar except for color, with "most popular" options. If you want anything either loaded up or specifically optioned your best bet is to order rather than spend time looking for something in stock you may never find.

My 2016 Z06 was used, with about 5400 miles, sitting in a Chrysler-Dodge dealership about 30 miles from where I live. If I were to order a car, it would have been close to this one (2LZ, M7, competition seats, CF dash). So after a little haggling and a slight delay in selling my C5, it was mine. The car looked and drove like brand new. Very happy with the cost savings vs. new.

I think it really depends where you are in life. I ordered mine from Kerbeck in NJ and received a very fair deal allowing me to get exactly what I wanted. It is my first Vette and I did not feel like compromising in any way although I know a pre-owned would have been smarter. Here are the results and I am not looking back.................

My 16Z was ordered from Rick Conti who picked me up at the Columbus airport. I drove it up to Detroit for a vette club show, Corvettes on Woodward and the Woodward Dream Cruise, a Tigers game and a great drive back to California.

that's a long drive! Did you do the first oil change along the way?
