Ordered my 2016 as I have been doing on several cars now. After buying used cars for many years, I now like to get exactly what I want. I specifically wanted a non-Z07 2LZ in LBR and Kalahari with NAV/PDR, chrome wheels, body colored vents and minimal aero. The stealth approach to a Z06. Later added body colored side skirts from RPI Designs to compliment the vents. Also ordered it from our local dealer as I like to develop a relationship with a dealer in case any gray area issues arise with a warranty question. Also got a friend who used to work there to help me with a "Friends and Family" GM discount so it ended up a decent financial deal as well. I did initially look for a used one with my friend who is the used car manager at the BMW dealer where I had worked. He had access to the dealer version of Cars.com listing supposedly wholesale prices. But in 2016 there were hardly any with body colored vents (my primary desired option), most were heavily loaded with Z07 and 3LZ packages or had high miles or lots of tire wear (often Pahrump NV cars) and the used car asking prices were usually more than I actually ended up paying for the new car. So I ended up with exactly what I wanted at a fair price from a dealer I know. My approach worked for me; your mileage may vary. --Bob

Good story...I traded in my 2007 Lemans Blue Z06 for a Museum Delivery 2019 Blade Silver with 3LZ two tone grey interior. M7 and greatly looking forward to our trip to Bowling Green in a couple of weeks!! Loved the 07 but this is going to be an AWESOME car!!

I've never bought a car off the lot, every one has been ordered. Including my '19 Z06 which should be at Criswell in a couple of weeks...

Ordered it. Elkhart Blue wasn't even going to be on dealer floors until this past October, so waiting for dealers to have them in stock would have taken even longer. Plus...as mentioned...lots of dealers order them with a set of particular options...some of which are great and some of which I'd prefer otherwise. I really fell in love with the kalahari interior when I saw all the colors in person and finding a kalahari and ELBM now is still nearly impossible...it seems like they almost all come with black interiors. I did want the 2LZ with the cameras as well. I did want the PDR. I got mine with the carbon dash and am adding my ground effects as I go, going with the ACS Z06 front splitter with undertray and their armor in the near future. At some point beyond that I'll add the full length sides. I got the Stage 2 rear wings stock and the Stage 1s never even went on it. I also wanted the silver wheels...I like the look of the black wheels, but in the end the silver won me over a bit more.
It drove right by my house and then was on the back of the truck for another 4 days before arriving at my dealer where I got to unwrap it a couple of weeks after my birthday! Luckily the night it went past my house (got that on video with watching OnStar), the driver spent the night less than 2 miles away! So I got pics of my car on the truck up close!
For my first ever totally new car I decided I wanted it the way I wanted it and I'm glad I did it that way...had the timing for the museum worked better I probably would have done that, but no regrets on the timing...November isn't always the best time to drive on these tires and the weather could be unpredictable.
Loving it!!!!

I broke into the GM parts warehouse and stole all the necessary parts, nuts, and bolts and built my own.

Thanks...looks like WGG on yours? If so you'd have had a several month longer wait as WGG disappeared before Admiral Blue did and Elkhart didn't start getting built until early October last year. I have a gray and a silver car now, so something different was next for me having had 2 white cars before that...my blue cars being farther back in the past. The WGG is a gorgeous color and your car looks great! I wouldn't change a thing if I were you...you have a fantastic looking car! Enjoy it!

I bought mine used with 6800 miles only because I get tired of cars pretty easy and sell them within 2 years. I don't want to pay 90k, then sell for 65k, makes no sense to me. I'm on my 5th vette and already contemplating selling, lol!

Thought about ordering - found one on a lot with everything I wanted (Orange, stage 2 aero, CCB non-Z07) except it had gray wheels/brakes. I figured I'd be turned off, but seeing it in person changed my mind. Realized it was actually a great combo with Orange. Bought it the next day.

My 2011 Grand Sport I had a local dealer locate one and bought it from them. My 2015 Z06/Z07M7 I found in a showroom in Charlotte, NC and bought it there. My 2016 Z06 A8 I ordered from a local dealer. My new 19 ZR1 A8 I got info from Chevrolet online that a dealer in Gardendale Ala had just got one. I called them and they were unloading it off of the truck. Drove there this past Saturday and took delivery from them.

Originally I wanted to get one off a dealer's lot but soon I found out there wasnt any black on black z06/z07 m7 in California so had to order from the factory.
It was worth the wait, this way I got exactly what I wanted and 6 weeks wasn't the end of the world to get exactly what I wanted.

Thank you!!! There are several more pictures of it in the official Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic thread on here as well as a few in the Official Z06 Picture Thread.
Here's a few more! I picked up a set of machine face GS wheels from one of the vendors here and some of the new Michelin AS3+ all season ultra high performance tires so I can drive when it's cold as well...the other wheels and tires are being kept safe until it's warm enough to enjoy them again!
