What's the purpose of the new valley plate? Is the DI fuel pipe stuff still under there? Do you have to replace the front main seal on these cars when you change the damper? I hate that the timing cover and oil pan are RTV'd now.

it seals up the oil ports that feed the OEM DOD lifters. Yes all the di stuff is still there and we did a cam so all the gaskets were replaced. water pump, head, crank seal. I personally like that it's rtv'd on. makes it really obvious when we get cars in from other places that did a cam to see who has no clue how to do it properly lol

So you don't use the "hammer in" plug things like GM does on the LT5? That plate seals them?

So the engine is back together and the first dyno work is promising. 22# boost but getting some belt slip. Changing out to the 3" pulley and will test again. Joe may chime in with more specifics but looking at 850ish when all is said and done. Car sounds mean. Joe will have it one more week to get it all dialed in. I will be back late next week for the 1300mile drive back.

Here are some outdoor pics of the engine.

If you are making 22lbs of boost and running E85 then you will be making more than 850whp with the mods listed above for sure... !

Joe was getting enough belt slip with the small 70mm pulley that he is going up in size which will drop the boost some. Monday should give us more numbers.

Looks great! Congrats on a nice setup!

I can't help to see the fuse block in that first pic imagining it was just put back in b/c I can't imagine trying to get headers/heads/etc. on that car with that thing in the way!

Nice build Gasser, congrats! Also, love the MO plates, I lived there for almost a year, my older brother still lives there.

So, CPR did a pulley change to get rid of the belt slip and drop the boost a bit. Ended up at 18psi and 861HP on E50. Can’t say how impressed I am with the build and the end result. Joe know his ****. He told me 850-860hp months ago before the build was even started. Pick the car up in 4 days for the 1300 mile drive home. Ripping across the empty space of NM will be a blast.

Here is a screen shot of the end of the video with the final numbers. The final numbers were on E50/meth. The smaller ones were 91/meth.

Hey Joe, great job as usual. Question tho, why not run full e85, tune for it, and then the car is tuned for the full spectrum regardless what a person puts in the tank? Is it because it takes too much fuel and runs the fuel system short of pressure?

Also, a message to all vette owners on this forum, be careful showing off your plates, especially if you have a hot car that you have a lot of money into making a lot of power. Technically they can do this to any vette or any car that is driving down the road that they see the plate on (its a long story), but really hot cars with a lot of money into them are big targets.

The plate allows bad guys to get your full vin, and then they can create a false registration and get the key that will open and start your car from a dealership, and they can also find out where you live etc.

So just be careful, don't want to see anything happen now that you've poured all this money into your car, insurance companies don't pay for what you have into the car unless you have Grundy or some other "name your own value" showcar insurance.

That is a 1000hp build. Congrats

he would need fic injectors and LPE pump to do full e85 and e50 will give him full timing benefits anyways, he's smart enough to monitor the content so it saves him a ton of money with no HP loss at this level.

3.0 upper/ 9.84 lower. we are making something cool to allow the 2.6 to work with a 9.84 lower. It will only be worthwhile for guys doing high side upgrades as it'll easily hit mid 900 rwhp especially with the modification we do to allow the use of the camaro lid.

you could but imo it's a jumbled mess of stuff there at that point. I would just do the LPE pump and fic injectors would be roughly the same cost and one less controller that could fail and your engine bay wouldn't look like crap imo with all that going on there with a pd blower.
