Default C7 Z06 Akrapovic Exhaust install

I currently have Kooks long tube headers with Kooks X pipe. I also have the slip on Akrapovic axle back exhaust.

I would like to order and install the Akrapovic X pipe but I heard that there are modifications that need to happen and its not a perfect bolt on install. Can anyone tell me what all is involved?

If you have long tubes you would have to cut them or the X pipe to get them to match up. The akra x pipe is going to be to long to bolt up to your current setup since it's made to bolt up to the stock exhaust.

Exactly what RegnaR stated, I was in your position and chose to do Akrapovic Evolution with Cat Delete Pipes to retain the Titanium X-Pipe without modifications.

I have the Akra full system with ARH midlengths, don't want to cut my Xpipe, I have thought about going to modified collector long tubes but really I don't think I care that much....

You also can't buy the Akra midpipe by itself unless you find it used.

Thanks so much for the info, this is exactly what I was looking for. I am assuming it would be cheaper to cut the Kooks portion than the Akra X pipe? Just fyi I do NOT have cats - if that makes a difference in this scenario.

OP here with the LT headers of anyone's , I did what you are asking here this is what you have to do but firse the x pipe is made only to bolt up to the stock exhaust. SO HERE YOU GO MAN WHAT I DID

1) I had to cut the end off of the x pipe that will go onto the headers,

2) You have to get and pull the Xpipe in together about 3 plus more inch's, this is due to the diff in the stock down exhaust and the place where the LT headers come out at a diff point at I also had to get a guy that could TIG a piece of this from one pipe to the other pipe to hold it in place.

3) For this piece of stuff like the stuff is made from & for him to TIG it inplace cost me yes $ 400.00

4) I have LG slip on and the band together LT headers so then you have to get two piece's of stainless pipe to band onto the LT headers then the other end to go over your x pipe then use the bands to close off so you have no exhaust leaks.

My set up looks good but now this x pipe will only fit the LT headers & per say is damage for me to sale to someone with a stock exhaust on his car... Robert

Hey Robert,

Was referring to the creator of the thread, not you.
