Default Octane Boost

I just purchased a C7 Corvette with the GM performance package. According to the docs, you are supposed to run 100 octance with that mod and tune change. That said, what is the best octance boost that is the best performance for the dollar yet will not corrode plugs?

I use boostane professional. It's a little pricey but better then torco . I put a full can in with 93 octane an feels much better .

Amazon had them. I just didn't like the orange residue it leaves behind. It was stated that only torco does this but after pulling the plugs on my wrx, boostane leaves this residue too. Not sure if it's bad but i'm sure it's not good.

A full can wow that’s too much you’re going to clog your cats. I would use boostane to add a few points not 7-9 but that’s just me. I use it to make 93 octane from 91 it takes about 3oz per tank according to their blend chart.

No problem with the many cases of additives , after hundreds of strip passes , autocross events and other events, not one plugged cat. Guess the old folk just like to worry about the possibility of things happening .more fake news. Don't worry go fast.

I am one of the engineers over at BOOSTane, and may be able to shed a little light on this.

While there is a residue left behind, the difference in BOOSTane compared to other products such as Torco, is whether or not it results in fouling. In our case it does not, due to its proprietary carrier. See below a quick explanation of our carrier and its influence on residue and fouling.

But why is there a residue at all?

For those who keep the factory plugs, which are rated to 100k for Iridiums, having residue on these plugs should have some substantial effects over time no?

Boostane works really well. It does leave that residue but it works really well.

Default Different Strokes

Since my car is a toy, one which does not get used as much as I would like due to professional commitments and travel, I will run a 100 Octane lead free many times in lieu of the readily available 93. I live in Northern Fl which truly has three seasons, so I tend to run the 100 octane more in the April to mid October range and then when going to the track. I get it for about $10 per gallon. VP says it is worth about 3% extra power on my '19 Z06, and claims it has considerable less contaminants/impurities than pump fuels - even the top tier fuels.

Last dynojet run (my car is an M7) ran at 590 rear wheel...Only power mods are Mamo Ported TB and BMS filter - done mostly to eliminate irritating off idle hesitation.
