The keybox is connected to the window by a very thin piece of aluminium so as not to affect the rubber window seal. I was worried the tint may have been scratched but it wasn't.

Stage 3 is carbon fiber, and larger spoiler with wickerbill, i believe.

The goal was the wife not being aware. That limited me to Shark Grey, and 2016 MY, and black 1LZ interior.

I'll keep my hand over the "650 HP" badge if I ever driver her around.

Stage 2 aero should have the large end pieces on the spoiler but no clear center part.

Very, and I mean VERY thorough!
However, not being GM, you need to run the VIN (GM VIS) at the GM dealer to see if there is a warranty block on it, and any previous service.
Carfax will show any insurance claims and titling etc.

The one BIG thing is and I doubt you can do this until AFTER purchase, but since you have 7 days, go the GM dealer and have them plug in to get the GDSII report.. This will show all CVN's of operating systems, and this is what GM uses if there is a question about a tune or PCM access...

Even if there's no current warranty block, if something ever did happen & they pulled the GDSII, if the CVN's were off, you're done.

Lastly, get the rear diff fluid checked as most C7's come in 20 oz low.. Better to just have it drained and re-filled than topped off..
Good luck!
The factory warranty reaming was part of the deal and in the paperwork. They would have to take the car back if it was modded before I bought the car and the warranty was cancelled. I've had good experience with CarMax, they don't mess around with usual dealer tricks.

well, he got the stage 2 front splitter at least, the rear, i dont like those taller pieces anyway, trying to see out the back of the car. I would keep it how it is, but thats just me.

Agree.... but doesn't that mean someone took them? Stage 2 aero should have the "batwing" splitter with small end-plates, full length rocker skirts, and the larger spoiler "add-on" pieces but without the clear center wickerbill.

No... only difference in aero over the life of the cars was adding the 1/2 skirts to the stage 1 aero in 2017 and up.

Good job..
Trust me, before your 7 days, go to the dealer & get the rear diff fluid checked & have them pull the GDSII.
Not even 10 mins for both!
Congrats on the new ride!

Congrats on a beautiful Z!! Great color, price, and decision!!
We've done business a few times with Carmax over the years and have always had a good experience.
Where in South Florida are you?

Anything I should look for on a low mileage (6,800) 2016, that has a full set of new tires? Going in to do the trade tonight, just covering my bases since the car is in great condition, body, rims, interior are perfect. There was a check engine light which salesman says was due to low battery (he had to boost it). Their garage cleared the code and no new ones appeared. Note: They cannot sell a car with a check engine light. I have 7 days to return the car no questions asked, but still need to be sure.

Why a new set of tires with only 6,800 miles? If it was tracked, then how would I know / should I care? Or am I about to enter a world where its normal to spend $1500-$2000 on tires every 7K miles?

2016 Shark Grey w/1LZ
  • Z07
  • Nav/PDR
  • 7K miles
  • New Michelin SS A/S tires on nickel Z06 rims
  • Clean CarFax
  • 1 month left for 1 free oil change
  • 13 months left of B2B
  • 37 months of power train

Anyone think I should NOT pay $59K for this car?
Thanks for any advice.

Thanks. Yeah, they actually have at least a couple of people who know what these cars are all about. My salesman races Porches in Homestead, so he actually knew what a Z06 was. And yes, they had him drive the M7 Z06 up for me to test drive. I was at a Chevy dealer once and the salesman smoked the clutch on a GS so badly just parking it, the buyer walked away in disgust.

Lower Palm Beach county is where I live and work.

Previous owner was like me and saw no use in them, and probably traded with another guy who wanted his taller ones.

Yup. I realize now that the ones I have are not the spoiler sections that came with aero 2. Was there a short option from GM? I ordered the wickerbill pair online anyways. I know that they are stuck on with tape as well as the 8 screws so if I peel them off, to will be hard to ever put the short ones back on.

It's not hard to peel off. Use a hairdryer to loosen glue up and it comes right off.

Acetone on a micro will remove all residue and not harm anything there.

Congrats on the purchase. I have a similar Z06. Albeit I set out to get a 1LZ and ended up in a 3LZ for not even 7500 more with a design package (had the blade spoke wheels which were another 3500 option at time).

Great thing about Z06 is even 1LZ has HUD.

Enjoy it.

Wow. Just checked carmax and they are dirty with z06s. Jesus.

And people still till in the high 60s and 70s for similar models on here.

May be more difficult to swap the z51 if prices are that soft. Saving grace is a 60k car is different people than a 38k car.
