Buying a new ‘19 C7Z
So I’m ready to buy a new ‘19 zo6. I’ve read about how there’s a surplus of ‘19s because dealers want the 2020 allocation - and that this might represent a buying opportunity for me.
Kerbeck is doing around 10k off MSRP, which gets a 1LZ down to around 71k for an entry level car.
Im looking for buying guidance - PM me if you like, but I’m looking for a torch red 1LZ or 2LZ manual.
My plan was to fly to the dealership and road trip home but Kerbeck to Texas is a long drive so bonus points for something closer...
thoughts anyone? Have you seen more than 10k off on new ‘19s anywhere?
thanks...

i would start calling dealers and seeing if they have 18's and still have GM incentives. If they do, i would be inclined to hold out a couple months and keep checking in on the 18's until the dealers say that the 18's are about to lose incentives that month.
Once the dealer KNOWS they lose all incentives NEXT month, you can get them to take a bath on the car THIS month while there are still incentives.
Reason being, if they are giving you a 10 grand off deal this month on 18's, and 8 grand of that is incentive rebate money from GM, next month, the same deal, they themselves instead of discounting 2 grand at the dealer level, would have to discount 8 grand more to 10 grand.
So you simply point out to them, next month, they will have to lose 8 grand to sell the car IF anyone wants it vs a 19.
So how about they lose an extra 7 grand this month, on top of the 10 grand discount.
Those were easily doable numbers. I got a dealer to take over 20 grand off total, with this strategy.

I bought my C5Z at Kerbeck in 2004 as they were pushing them out for C6s at 20% off...great team and experience.
I bought my C7Z at a small dealership in Ohio for just over 21% off in 2016. Of course those were crazy inventory and GM incentives.
I drove both back home which was a great experience, the last trip was 1500 miles to the Texas Hill Country.
Discounts are soft now, but I searched all the standard websites and eBay. The 2016 was on eBay. Seems like the “good” standard now for a lot car is around 15%.
Have an aggressive search routine and reach out to dealers with offers.
Good luck.

This is what it looked like when I bought mine from MacMulkin. Mine is the red one in the upper left hand corner. I suspect that these discounts will be back again, but you'll need to waiting until September.

incentives on the 16's ended in may or june of 2017. If chevy has the same schedule for the 18's, that is right around the corner. They could be ending incentives this month for all i know, or they could already be ended... the point is, you never know until you check... but the last month of incentive on a car, is when you can commit legal robbery of this nation's chevy stores.

I would do it again, but no sense going from a '16 to a '19 when the C8 is right around the corner. Although that buying experience was pretty cool because i went to kerbeck to get a grand sport lol. And drove home in a Z.
I hope to do the same with the C8 pretty damn soon. Hurry up GM!!

0 for 72 on all remaining 2018s
if you are financing id go this route or wait until they clear out the 18s then drop 0% on the 19s..
id bet my paycheck its coming as soon as the 18s are gone

then its good likelihood that all incentives will be pulled on 18's in the next 3 weeks, or at the end of next month. I'll find out tomorrow, but that is the way to go, I have zero percent on my car. Saves hundreds of dollars in payment.

So if you think about it, technically, next year this time is when the 19's would be about to lose their incentives and thus have the grand finale incentive month as the 18's have right now, so while it may happen on 19's sooner, the only guarantee is you will need to wait a year.
even when they offer 0 for 72 in other times, it does not stack with other incentives, they make you choose the rate or the rebates....
but this time of year you can get both stacked, and as the other fellow mentions, he got 0 and 22% off, which on a 100g car is 22 grand, which falls inline with the same deal I received.

BTW, that's almost a 23% discount plus the extra stuff.

I just hope the same pattern continues with the c8. Imagine getting a c8z for 20% less than msrp???

talked to a chevy manager today, he said they have 0 percent or 15% off, i asked him what he thinks he could discount a 100 grand car if the person took the zero percent, he said about 8 grand...
but we all know they will go further.
He did say that this is NOT the last month of incentives yet on the 2018, so waiting until next month and possibly the month after would be in a buyer's best interest.
