Happens a lot on the z06 interiors with the z06 headrest emblem, they will throw normal c7 interior in the car, and hope customer does not notice.
That's a scenario that really hadn't crossed my mind but makes sense.

It happened fairly often when cars were built in St. Louis. If the line were about to shut down someone was dispatched to the hardware store or wherever to get a box of bolts or what was needed to keep things going. I kind of get a chuckle when the NCRS guys point something out under one of the older Corvettes and say that is the wrong bolt, nut or muffler clamp. Things happen at times, the part may not be what was originally speced but it might be original to the car.

Things like this drive the originality "inspectors" nuts!
