Hi, congrats man ! magnifique Z !
you can paint the brake in red if you want.
All my Vettes were, is protected. The last by XPel, fender, hood, spoiler, side skirts. I advice you to do a ceramic coating, you can DIY, it's easy. You have protection, splash guards sell by ACS composites to install on the fender, back of the tyres, protection against sand, gravel, not expensive but effective. I tried all these protections, and I'm happy

I would suggest putting it on your profile notes, it helps people local reach out to assist you who already have tools etc.
The tools for this procedure are expensive and rare.

Hi all, just pulled the trigger on a new leftover 2018 Z06 2LZ Coupe this morning. It has PDR, Transparent Top, Battery Protection, Chrome wheels, and chrome badge package.
First thing that I'm curious about is the Z's come standard with red calipers and mine has black but I don't see the $595 charge for the option anywhere, anyone else familiar with that?
Secondly and more importantly, what are the little must haves for protecting the car from rock chips, types of paint protection, or basically what protects everything?
I've already ordered weathertech mats for it including the cargo mat.
The car is 4 hours away and we haven't seen it in person yet. We will be going to pick it up next weekend and can't wait!

[QUOTE=LarryFL;1599059456]The only thing the 2018 brochure says about caliper color is that red is standard, and Z07 only comes in red and yellow. Why would there be an upcharge for black?[/QUOTE
I dont know what color's they up charge for but what I do know is black on black looks like crap]

Those who have a black car and black calipers likely find the effect subtle, rather than "crap."

Good chance the dealer swapped the calipers out for another customer who wanted Red. Grand Sports come with Black calipers and reds would be a $595 upcharge. Just a thought. Good question for you to ask the selling dealer. “Where are my Red calipers?”

On Z06
- red is standard
- black or yellow is an upcharge.
- black cannot have Z07 nor CCB pkg
- grey requires Z07 or CCB pkg

Congratulations...I personally use X-PEL on all my cars.. They claim it's self healing and in a way it kinda is In my opinion its the best on the market...Call around best the prices will be all over the place for this...My whole hood and front fenders front clip and all the way down the side of my doors from the line down to the rockers and side skirt's are done I paid $2,450 here in Chicago

Thanks for all the positive replies about Xpel. I am looking into that but so far haven't found an installer close to my little town. The dealership I purchased from offers polysteel but I've heard mixed reviews on that and I can ceramic coat it myself and know what I got afterwards.

Just curious, how do you know that? RPO tag, build sheet or dealer order sheets should show caliper choice for the car.
J6A = Black
J6D = Dark Gray Metallic
J6E = Yellow
J6F = Red

Just going by what the dealer is telling me until I see the car. I have requested the RPO codes to see what it shows. Dealer says the car has not been altered in any way.

once in a blue moon chevy factory swaps things up and hopes people do not notice. They will be out of a part, so they use the alternative.
Happens a lot on the z06 interiors with the z06 headrest emblem, they will throw normal c7 interior in the car, and hope customer does not notice.
