Default What are the best deals you can get on new 2018 ZO6 nowadays?

Can you get much below 20% off MSRP or is it pretty much the best you can get?

Why not call some dealerships and see what you can get? At the end of the day that is what matters, not someone's post on the internet.

You did better than me, Todd Hale, I'm at about 20% off. The secret to the O/P's question is to....
a) find a dealer stuck with a new 2018
b) find the 2018 set up close to what you'd like and the color
c) have it be a large Corvette dealer who has a pile of 2019's so he has to dump the 2018 for a loss.
That seems simple enough, doesn't it?

i actually think the small dealers are better to go after because they are scared of getting stuck with a 100 grand car they lose incentive to sell. I have had best luck with small dealers, as have many people i know.

Big dealers are good for getting an allocation and ordering one in.

If it doesn't matter to you how it's equipped, no sweat. That's hardly ever the case though. Order one, and forget about the huge discounts....

its hard to order an 18, and its hard to tell someone to ignore over 20 grand in discount... that 20 grand is money they will be upside down later with negative equity if they dont worry about discount now.

No kidding? I already took that into account..... He's not going to find what he wants at what, almost "-30% off??" LOL! Order one.

..This has played out endlessly here. Guy looks high and low for a deal. Guy is presented deals. Guy says; "uh, I don't like those wheels, color, Yada Yada yada.....Order one!

Joe, I do agree with you completely.....if your going to spend $70K or more for a leftover one a be, you probably should look at the hard numbers closely...get exactly what you want or real close to it on a new one, if it's in a dealer's inventory. I haven't seen 0% financing yet, but I hear it's available or close. Just get what you really want, life's too short.
Now Mikec7z, you and I disagree on most everything...as a matter of fact, you seem to disagree with many! On your comment, getting a better great deal out of a small dealer rather than a large dealer, you're off base....completely! All of the really strong, high discount Corvette deals are with large dealers....just look at the advertised prices. A small dealer, the owner is in the deal...he doesn't want to lose any money. Do you really think that deals at 20-24% off exist without losing money? The big boys, it's all numbers and percentages on large moving of units...period. They will take a write off to move units because at the end of the day, its the profitability of of the units sold as an aggregate total.

Everyone may not find what they want in leftovers but there's plenty to choose from and receive a great discount on. We were simply looking for torch red GS or Z06 in a 2LT/2LZ combination with jet black interior, A8, and chrome wheels. No other options really mattered to me. I ended up getting the transparent top, battery protection, chrome badge package, and PDR on our purchase. I looked hard into ordering a new 2019 but the absolute best discount I received was 12% which put my purchase price at $81,351 and I instead got a new 2018 with even more options for $69,500 so I saved $11,851 and got what I wanted plus some extras. The 18's are discounted enough to take a look in my opinion, unless you just have money to burn and want to say you ordered exactly what you want.

Given the allocation system there aren't many small dealers that actually have any C7s. Most of the ones that have a C7 or a few C7s on the lot are larger dealers that do not emphasize selling Corvettes. If they have sold enough Vettes to have some sort of an allocation and have one sitting around they will be more likely to deal since the likelihood of somebody walking in the door and saying I want that car is nil. At a certain point they have to consider how much money they are losing having it sit there Vs moving it on.

Bill

Guys, thanks for all the responses.
I got SUPER lucky and found one with literally every option I would order if I were to build it now.
Great discount as well, so I'm pulling the trigger!!!

Appreciate your help!

I got 23 grand off and zero percent loan (that's about 24% discount btw). I got mine from a small dealer scared of the next month once incentives were lost. Small dealers aren't good for obtaining big discounts upon a car's first release, since these dealers don't get many allocations as you and Bill mention, but for left over 18's which is what we are talking about, which are going to lose their incentives in the next 2 months most likely, small dealerships $hit a brick when they get stuck with a 100 grand car without incentives, as they have to take a huge bath to sell it once incentives are lost, plus the cars usually have blemishes and flat spots, and people are scared of them at that point, and the car is 2 years old in model year as the 2020's will be announced soon.

Take my car for instance, the dealer chose to lose over 13 grand of their real money, plus give me all the money from GM, and they knew if they did not lose 13 grand, next month, they would have to lose 20 grand of their real money, and still have no zero percent as they currently did... so they would have to lose +26 grand to sell a car next month to match a deal as they gave me since they had a week left for incentives, and only lost 13 grand instead.

"Last months of incentive", and the last week of that month, is deal time with the small dealerships.

Keep in mind, had I had known about the corvette museum discount coupon, i would have gotten almost 30 grand off?!... and zero percent.

Hubris140 is the only person i know who got a deal better than mine... and again... small dealer in Tennessee. He got over 30 grand off if i remember correctly.. 32 or 33... i helped him on that deal as well.

So, you can sit here and tell me the big dealers will sell for less, but they have a bigger customer database and followings, so when they mark things down, people are there to pounce on a good deal. I've tried to get these deals at big dealers, and I cant.

Small dealers don't have the marketplace, and thus, they have to give a car away to make it move when the stars align.

Stars are about to align on 18's, and the small dealers will be where the 23-33 grand discounts exist.... PLUS zero percent... which is worth another 6 grand easily on a 100 grand car loan.

And yes.. I'm well aware right now a person has to trade the zero percent OR the rebates, but cant have both.

With the discount I received, I effectively obtained both. Find someone who beat our deals, and in the meantime, ill find the other 2 people i helped steal cars from small dealers... can't remember who they were off the top of my head, but ill find them.
