Default Best CAI

Hello Everyone,

I'm moving along with my mods. My garage is filling up fast, and my car hasn't arrived yet! Lol... Anyway, my question is your thoughts on the best CAI for the c7 z06. I see on K&N's website that they only offer one with a carbon fiber tube for ($849). If this is the best CAI, I don't mind paying that, but I want to make sure...

Thank you

definitely not K&N. With the others, it depends on if you plan on getting a tune. If you do not plan on getting a tune you will almost get as much out of the BMS drop in filter.

Thanks for the help! Everyone on here has more experience with these cars than me... But, what's wrong with the K&N?

With the stock tune, the Halltech stinger CAI will make the most power. AFE not too far behind.
AFE has better fit and finish.

Ported throttle body helps to eliminate the off-idle big.

Non-catted x-pipe helps the sound mostly.

Thanks for the help. Where can I get a non-catted x-pipe and ported throttle body? Thank you!

You can try to find a discontinued 60547 Borla X-pipe or go with Corsa. I added a Tony Mamo ported throttle body and the GM CAI.

We have the aFe carbon intake!

For sure the aFe is probably going to the one of the or the most popular intake for the c7..

The best one requires a tune (MAF scaling) and it’s the CPR 5”. It has the most power potential IMO.

I assume since you received one of the first CPR 5" CAI's you put yours on a dyno for MAF scaling. What did you replace and how much difference did it make if you don't mind my asking?

I went with the Manzo catless x pipe. Cheap, good quality and fitment. Check Ebay for best price.

Joe put one in my build earlier this month when he added the 2300. Easier to access the filter when needed for cleaning/changes. Looks like it "means business" with the powder coated finish instead of a plastic piece.

I haven’t gotten one yet, but it’s on my list with the 2650 and port injection. I’m tired of smoking blower belts, the last one was 1st pass off the trailer. 9.6 lower and 2.6250 coated upper (10Rib) On a 2.3 blower and I can kill a belt in a dozen passes. There is an easier way to get 19lbs and that 2650 with a 5” intake is the way for me.
