You can call your dealer’s service department and give them your VIN. They will run a VIS. It will show any open recall or TSB.

Got the second letter this week. Funny thing is, I had talked to my Service Consultant the day before the letter came. He confirmed that my car ('17 non-ZO7) was on the list and that they had the part. Will be bringing it in first thing this coming Monday.

I had a loos of power steering last year once. My 17 Z is affected by the recall its going in first thing tomorrow for the ESP motor replacement and a oil change. Hopefully they have a competent Corvette Tech. I am a FAA A&P mechanic so I am super picky on how things get done on my car.. We will see how it goes.

Default Power Steering Recall

I got a letter today saying to contact my dealer for a appointment. It said it would take 5 hours to complete.

Go to https://my.gm.com/recalls, put in your vin number (right behind the left side of your windsheild0 and you can see if your car has any recalls.

The trunk latch issue would not allow you to program a new FOB. Seat heaters are not anywhere near as warm as the C6 ones.

Had the recall done to my '17 ZO6 (non-ZO7) today. According to the Repair Order, the tech "Performed recall and replaced steering gear, reprogrammed Power Steering Computer Module and set Toe." I only drove it 4-5 miles and it feels just the same as it did before. In at 7am and out at 3 pm.

I just had the service done and I've lost half the responsiveness from the steering (let's say a 10 out of 10 for steering/handling to start, now a 5/10). I've just called the service manager to discuss. Anyone else lose steering responsiveness from this recall? I've got a 2017...

I had mine done a month ago, it still drives fine. I really can't tell any difference before or after. I wonder if they didn't get the flash done correctly on your car 23yates.

Thanks Frank! I'll see what they say - being long weekend won't be able to get it addressed until mid next week...

Complete @#$%$@ loss of ALL steering - causing me to hit into curbs etc after about 10 km from my house. Car is stranded, steering not working, blown right tire, and dealership closed for the long weekend. BEWARE this safety recall!!!

Yikes, look they forgot to tighten some nuts or bolts.

Sorry for the bump.
Is this a complex fix?
What is needed from the dealer in order to handle it?
