I've driven a hellcat, with bolt ons. It's the same car I beat with my "big 3 mod" manual z06.

But in the real world, it's faster. Meaning stop light to stop light, getting around town In a hurry. Carrying people, not worrying about scraping. It's not a sports car but a highway missile. They definitely shouldn't be taken lightly if you see one on the road.

I agree though. It's a heavy car.

But still has similar 1/4 and trap speed times. So straight line they're almost identical.

The z should always win, but the hellcat will be right there waiting lol

Probably because there are plenty of videos of stock hc chargers pulling on stock c7z. Use YOUR eyes as well. Look them up on youtube.
The zf 8speed in the hellcat is what makes it fast. Had GM used that transmission it would;ve been lights out. They fucked up again by using that in the zr1. I could only imagine a zr1 with a dct.

There is no trans that makes up a 1000lbs deficit.

Sorry I'm not a self hating Corvette owner. And no. I haven't watched videos of hellcats beating Z06s on YouTube unless they were modded or some other ridiculous reason.

No matter how hard anyone on here tries to convince the others. The hellcats are not close to a Z06. Even in the 1/4 mi. At 125 you're travelling around 180ft or second. Even .3 is roughly 4 car lengths. And beyond that they still dont pull to the Z06 looking at half mile traps from same day events and as tested by a few online sites etc.

Anyone wants hellcat fan boy posts head over to the hellcat forum. They'll love to have you.

I bet you have tears running down your face defending your car, lol. I know the HC is heavy as ****, its just insane how they can whoop your beloved c7z.

Great video. Especially the 5th or 10th idr what run. At the end when the Z06 walks away from the charger.

So completely different outcomes for almost every run? One where the charger walks away.. one where they stay side by side and one where the Z06 walks away.. sounds about right for the faster car having the less skilled driver having no clue how to pick the right gear probably using the paddles and the slower car having the better driver. I've been drag racing and street racing since I was a teenager. Nothing will ever change this fact. When all else is equal power to weight dictates the winner everytime. Reaction time.. traction... DA... driver skill level... to think otherwise is looking through rose colored lenses.

That ZF 8speed defies logic.. it's the reason the hellcat is the fastest vehicle around and the same reason why the Z06 is a piece of garbage.

That video falls into to the "no idea what the Z06 driver was doing" since the camera guy makes certain to keep the view off of the gear selector dash and driver. I can tell you this. That Z06 did nothing at wot which tells me the driver was starting out in a tall gear or that Z06 is a turd. That's not the sound or inertia event when you go wot in the numerous C7Zs I've driven including my own. Car did nothing.

I own a gen V viper.
I love the c7z, almost bought one, ended up with the better road course car, better top end too. Ill prob upgrade to a zr1.

Now i'm scared to get another run with my friends' HC charger. He said he has "more mods". Dyno'ed at 8 something he said.

So i'm guessing he'll destroy my car into pieces. I'll get it on video anyway. His car sounds incredible.

Match their mods. Both cars are beasts, cars with FI from factory have an advantage when it comes to getting more cheap HP.

They are. I love my Z. But i do know it's not the fastest. If i pour money into it, i can be one of the fastest in my area, but then what does that give me? Bragging rights? To who? Random people i encounter? lol

The car is pretty fast already, i didn't get the car dynoed but i did do the "big 3 mods" so maybe 620rwhp? If that? It's definitely a fast car.

But these days, there are too many fast cars out there. The M cars, the AMG's, the dodge powerhouse machines, the new GT500 that's coming out, the GTR's, all of them lol.

I know we all own corvettes so in our mind, it's the best car and nothing is faster lol. Until you encounter someone who is. If you beat a car, that's great, but then that just means there's other cars out there that could beat you, if you let them. Unless you're the type of owner that cherry picks his races, only race when you know you're going to win lmao.

I'm done with this car though. Just gonna enjoy it for the remaining 2 years until the warranty is up, then it's time for a new toy. Maybe the C8, maybe a GTR, or the GT500, or even the F90 M5 i'm thinking about. Or maybe a 911 turbo s.

So many nice cars out there, that are insanely fast.

Gizmo, if you believe just about any of those You Tube videos, I would be surprised....I would have thought you were more intelligent than that or is this just another way for you to hack on the C7 Z06? I'm not disputing which cars may have won the drag race, but I do dispute what modifications have been made to the cars racing.
"Stock" means pure stock, the car in its configuration is identical to the way it was built by the manufacturer. No way, no how can I believe a pure stock C6 Z06 can beat a pure stock C7 Z06 ....Chevrolet would have never passed a design for the next generation C7 Z06 that would allow that. You Tube drag races are fun to watch, but there is more car tweaking involved with those vehicles than the descriptions and/or contestants tell any of the viewers.
