Anyone go from a modded C6Z to a C7Z?

Anyone go from a modded C6Z to a C7Z?
Looking for honest opinions from those of you who went from a heads/cam C6 Z06 to a modded C7 Z06. I've owned a black 2006 for the past four years and love it.The car runs flawlessly and pulls hard.Makes about 560 rwhp and 530 rwtq through a built trans. Never tracked it, but would probably do a mid 10 at 133-134. As much as I love the car, every single time I see a C7Z in the wild my heart skips a few beats. They just look so damn good. We also just got our first E85 station about 10 minutes from my office I'm thinking about selling mine and upgrading, but would like some advice from those of you who took this path from a similarly modded car. Looks wise, I love the new Z06 and think they look pretty sinister. How does the handling and driving feel compare to the C6? How about the power? My biggest concern with the C7Z is that it would feel slow compared to my current car. Would an A8 C7Z with a pulley, exhaust and flex fuel tune pull harder than a heads/cam C6Z? Any opinions are welcome. Thanks for the input.

I don't care if i get beat by every single C6Z i encounter on the road, i am more than happy to drive back home in a C7Z instead.
C6's are just too damn old. Good cars. I just wouldn't want to own one after getting into a C7Z.
Do the upgrade man. C7's are way better than C6's in every category.

Not exactly what you were looking for, but close. I had a 2012 Grand Sport with a Vortec. Bought the car brand new in 2011 and had the blower installed within the first 6 months. Made 580-ish to the wheels. I LOVED that car. It was 100% trouble free for 7 wonderful years. I finally decided to join the C7 ranks in December and ordered my 2019 Z. I havent had it long, but let me be 100% clear - I LOVE this car even MORE!! Everything the C6 did well, this car does 10 times better! And that is not just me and the new car effect saying that. In stock form it is at least as fast as my C6 was, and because of the better torque curve of the C7, I am guessing it is a tad faster. For $1000 in mods it will be faster for sure, for $2000 in mods it will be WAY faster (for $2000 I will be close to 650RWHP on 93 octane). The torque down low is not only intoxicating, but addictive.
Trust me when I say sell or trade the C6 sooner than later and get a C7 Z. It will put a smile on your face instantly, and I guarantee you wont loose an ounce of performance - my bet is you will gain it.

Just joking above. Yes, went from a C6Z to a 7. In fact I had a few 6's. Very similarly my last 6 was a Lingenfelter 660 (approx. 590rwhp). Is the 7 a better car, sure but I never connected with it the way I did my C6Z. In fact I'd sooner go back to my Lingenfelter C6Z than my 7. As much as I like FI, I love the way that car pulled and love the rawness of the 6. As far as mods go, you can make either one as fast as you want.
here I have to disagree with ya....6 IS BETTER, 6 IS BETTER!!!!

The c6z is 400 lbs lighter. I think a HCI c6z will still take an intake, pulley, tune c7z. The stock c6z is just a hair slower than a stock c7z if any in a straight line. As much as people try to say otherwise.
On track it's completely different. A c7 z51 will match a c6z on track. It's that big of a difference in chassis and suspension improvments.

i do like the c7z— mainly the seats and seating position.
However if I had to do it over again I would have not made the change.
Other c7z owners ridicule me for saying this —I think stock for stock the c6z is as fast or faster especially on the big end then a c7z.
While the lt4 has a lot of low end grunt —The high rpm rush of the ls7 is more satisfying then the lunky feeling lt4.
from a looks and design perspective I think the c6z will age out. better over the long haul.

I really appreciate all of the input guys. I’m beginning to realize how attached I am to the n/a goodness of the ls7. Every time I think of selling it and take it for a drive, it feels like the first time again. I’m sure you can all relate. I think the real answer for me is to get more garage space and own both. Thanks again everyone.

i had a cammed c6 z with a 150 shot of nitrous, it was fun and fast. i would smoke most cars from a roll. they are light weight and more aerodynamic, but they are just old and outdated (imo).
my c7 z is an a8 and i like the smoothness of the suspension and tightness of the steering with so many other options to be had. it doesn't take an equal amount of horse power to outrun a c6z from a dig. a full bolt on c7 a8 will destroy the c6 z at the dragstrip but from a roll, its a diff story. to each their own, so don't base your purchase off our opinions, you either like them enough to buy one or you don't! good luck...

OP. Worlds apart in every way.
Vs one another in a drag race? Easy. Stock Stage I C7Z A8 will still pull a Bolton C6Z to 150. Beyond it the C6Z slowly catches it as the C7Z even in stage I has a lot more downforce at speed. Even so look at the 1 mile events plenty of real world answers there. Haven't found one where a C6Z topped a C7Z M7 or A8 in mph. Is it out there? I'm sure of it. But it's not representative of real world run in where both drivers CAN drive.
Real world experience.
Even the most minor mod to the C7Z like a good CAI on stock tune gives you almost 3mph in quarter. Thw car is choked on both ends. Opening up the intake side on stock tune is most gain I've ever witnessed on a stock tune in my life. And I've wat he'd my buddy dyno you name it since 2006 on a mustang dyno.
He has a C7Z with a 2300 on it 2" ARH, on pump gas and drag pack wheels tires car goes low 9.7s at 145mph.
I've pulled a modded F12 a dozen ti.es from just about every speed as well as a tuned Huracan again a bunch of times.
Both owners (friends who have ridiculous car corrals) swear my car is modded. They get so mad that the lowly Corvette not even a ZR1 does it to their several hundred thousand dollar exotics.
Idk where these magical mystical low 10 second stock C6Zs live but they aren't around here. Not from a dig. Not from a roll.
And stage I to stage II and III is huge drag above 120mph. Not minimal but huge.

The c7z will not age as well as the c6z. For those that don’t hang on to the car it won’t make a difference. For a long term keeper the c6z will be a much better car.

I had a C6. I loved it. But it was dated before C7 and then beceame a dinosaur the second the C7 showed up. And once the C8 shows up it'll remind you of an 80s bubble Taurus (not exactly but that's about as absurd as stating the C7z won't age as well as ths C6z). The C6s were too conservative. They put a plastic see through window on the ZR1... I mean think about that. When you have to pull a "Grease Lightning hot rod" move out of your hat to make it interesting.. that gen was a C5.5. Like the C5 went on a diet and had some light plastic surgery.
C6s have a boring front clip and the rear fascia (now) looks like belongs in the 80s with the round taillights. Even the late C4s had a more interesting rest fascia with the odd shape to the lights. How's your HUD? A bit green? Or maybe a blueish green if it was a later year?
And let's not talk about the interior of every gen prior to the C7.
