I'll share my experience, take it for what you want.
2019 Z06. I installed a MGW shifter and changed the trans fluid to Amsoil ATF. It shifts way better than before, but when cold its still horrible to get into 2nd.
My solution, I don't use 2nd gear until trans temp is over 100*. I shift from 1st to 3rd until it warms up, its extremely easy to do and drives nice this way. Once its over 100* it shifts fine into 2nd.

My 2016 is notchy when cold, and takes a little more effort to get into first or reverse until it heats up. Rest of the gears seem to be OK. I wouldn't say it's "difficult" to get into gear cold, just not as easy as when it is warm. Car is at 4K miles with original fluid still in the tranny.
