Default Protecting the rear brake vent area

Has anyone tried using clear plastidip to coat the area in front of the rear wheel including the brake vent? It is temporary, if applied think enough protective and easily removable. I think you could do it / replace it once a year and you would be good.

I got a prior car clear bra'd and I did not like it.

I tried a lot of things like clear bra and even just Blue masking tape but the best solution for me was the ACS XL wheel guards. As soon as I did that I noticed that all debris went under the car instead of into the ducts. Not the best looking addition to the car in my opinin but they have become invisible to me now and when I roll over a pile of stones, and I hear the sound like sand blasting, I know I am only hitting the unpainted underside of the car and I can breath a little easier.

I agree. Got the extended front and rear wheel guards. They also have covers painted in carbon flash that go right over the duct openings and they cover any prior damage. Since putting the wider guards on, no damage to my wrap/paint or the new duct cover. Pardon the dust and pollen. Havent detailed it yet from last nights drive.

Coming from the ACS enhanced guards the XL ones DEFINITELY protect more than the ones you have. I have noticed a big difference in the amount of debris kicked up on the side of the car since putting the XL guards on. I actually compare the 2 in this video and you can clearly see how much more area the XL guards are able to cover.

Everything is a trade-off. I would rather have a little wider wheel flair than have nicks/chips on the rockers, brake ducts, and paint. I run wider tires front and rear so really needed to cut down the chance of something damaging the car. From a distance don't notice them. People don't look at them, they look for great shine and finish.

Your car looks great. Is that shark grey? Or a different grey? I can't tell because of the sun hitting it.

Thanks so much! Much easier to care for than the gloss black underneath.

Truer words have never been spoken. Even when ceramic coated the dust and pollen showed up daily. Black is a labor of love. It was the first and last black car I will own. Got such a great deal as it was used with 3000mi and 10 wks old when I bought it, I didnt care about the color. Highly recommend a quality paint protection film. The duct covers by ACS go in in less than a minute a side and make them look brand new. Double sided tape and viola, no nicks/chips.
