I just bought a used 2015 Z06. I was checking out the rear storage area.
I found the battery under the carpet and under a styrofoam cover.
Question about the cover: There is an indentation in the foam for storing a tow hook.
Did the Z06s come with a tow hook stored over the battery?
Or is that space for an after-market tow hook?

Yes, that is the factory storage for the factory tow hook.

GM provides a tow hook with the export models. You can purchase it from any dealer or any of the online GM parts suppliers and stow it in the depression you mentioned. The aftermarket tow hooks won't fit in the depression but do look fancier.

no, no US car comes with the hook, the storage area is there for the non-US models that do come with them.

You can buy one from zl1addons, they have popular models.
