Default How expensive is it to get Comp seats?

I'm in the market for a C7 Z06 and my ideal car would have the Comp seats. But I'm finding that for every 10 cars I find, only maybe 2 of them have Comp seats. The rest have the standard GT seats. I really want Comp seats but I don't want to limit my options and pass up some amazing cars just because they have GT seats.

So it got me thinking. If I purchased a car with GT seats, how expensive/time consuming would it be to swap them out for Comp seats later on? Are Comp seats easy to find? Can you still find them new or do you have to buy them used? Is it a direct replacement or do Comp seats require different hardware? Would it be worth it to buy a car with GT seats only to swap them out or is it advisable to just wait until I find the perfect car with Comp seats as well?

There are some kits from the vendors for the swap. Most of them only include the seat back, as that what carries the biggest changes. The seat bases have a different amount of sections/pleats sewn into the leather, but other than that are the same I believe.

It really isn't that hard of a job to do the conversion. It does take some patience. I did it on my seats a couple of year ago. It took me about 5 or 6 hours to do thejob.

Fleming23 has a deal on a new set of Caravaggio seats, you might want to hit him up.

When I looked it was about $1800 for parts. There are good write ups to do it yourself. My wife found them uncomfortable so I’ve debated on just doing the drivers seat 😄

I'd much rather pay the 3000 for the caravaggio's. Those seats are beautiful and should offer better support than the factory ones as well. They use the factory frames but cushions, etc, are all different.

My 2016 Z06 had the GT seats. I was concerned about the seats being too snug.

I have competition seat in my 2019 ZR1.

Let me tell you - the competition seats don't just look cool - they are AWESOME. I highly recommend them. I believe there is a lot more to the seats than swapping the back.

One thing about the GT sweats in my 2LZ is that the emblem in the seat would dig into my back. On long trips - it was not fun. Long, short, any trips in the competition seats - awesome.

If I would have ordered my 19 Z06 I would have went with the competition seats. I will probably get to test them out soon if my Z06 has them in at spring mountain road course. Heading out soon and watching videos I think they probably most have them. Yes they do look cool and awesome but I cannot complain about my GT seats. I’m only about 5’5 and weigh about 165. My seats fit me and feel really good. Also the same for my wife. So after doing the road course if my car has them at least I will be able to tell if I want to make that mod someday.
